You will be responsible and able to strip pumps from drawings/manuals, carry out measuring and reassemble to OEM specifications, including balancing, pressure testing and completing final inspection reports.\nWhat we do at Weir\nWe are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.\nWhat you’ll do\nSafety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.\n\nEquipment Maintenance and Repair: Strip, repair, and reassemble Weir brand and non-OEM pumps, valves, and cyclones according to OEM specifications, including balancing, pressure testing, and completing final inspection reports.\n\nWorkshop Operations: Work primarily from the Perth Hazelmere Service Centre on a Monday to Friday roster (6:30am-2:45pm Mon-Thurs, 6:30am-12:30pm Fri) with options for overtime and occasional Saturday work by agreement.\n\nSite Support: Provide onsite support during mine shutdowns as part of the site service crew when required, assisting with equipment maintenance and repairs.\n\nContinuous Improvement: Actively participate in implementing the Weir Production System and recommend improvements to products, services, and procedures to enhance quality and efficiency.\n\nWhat you’ll bring\nMust-haves:\nCertificate III in Mechanical Engineering/Fitting & Turning\n\nExperience as a Mechanical Fitter in a workshop or onsite environment\n\nValid Driver’s License\n\nAustralian Work Rights \n\nNice-to-haves:\nWelding experience\n\nHigh Risk forklift ticket, overhead crane, and dogging tickets\n\nExperience working on pumps, cyclones, valves, and related equipment\n\nWillingness to travel occasionally to mine sites for shutdown support \n\nWhy join Weir?\nWe live our values we think safety first, do the right thing, respect each other, aim high, and delight our customers.
