You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.\nWhat you’ll do\nElectrical Design & Engineering:Produce and manage electrical engineering designs for Optimil equipment and mineral processing systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements, standards, and schedules. Daily tasks include developing electrical schematics using EPLAN Electric P8 and AutoCAD Electrical, and preparing Bills of Materials. Success means delivering high-quality, timely designs that meet customer and project expectations.\n\n3D Design & Integration:Create and review detailed 3D mechanical and electrical designs using Siemens NX (UG NX) or similar CAD software. Perform cable tray design, cable routing, and detailed engineering within 3D environments to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems.\n\nProject Coordination & Support:Manage multiple projects simultaneously, providing progress updates and aligning with project timelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electrical and control systems. Occasional travel to sites and workshops will be required to support E&I activities and resolve practical issues.\n\nStandards & Continuous Improvement:Apply and maintain adherence to electrical standards such as IEC, IEEE, ISA, NEMA, and NEC (NFPA 70). Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on design quality, standardization, and customer satisfaction.\n\nSafety First:Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.\n\nWhat you’ll bring\nMust-haves:\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related discipline with 5-10 years of hands-on electrical and control systems design experience.\n\nProficiency in EPLAN Electric P8 (v2022 or later) and Siemens NX (UG NX) or similar 3D CAD software.\n\nStrong experience in industrial control panel design including motors, PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, instrumentation, cables, terminations, and enclosures.\n\nSolid understanding of electrical design principles, engineering documentation, and relevant international standards (IEC, IEEE, ISA, NEMA, NEC).\n\nNice-to-haves:\nExperience in mining, mineral processing, bulk materials handling, or other heavy industrial/OEM environments.\n\nFamiliarity with AutoCAD Electrical and hands-on experience with PLC/HMI hardware configuration and software development (Siemens, Allen-Bradley).\n\nSite installation, commissioning, or field support experience.\n\nExposure to Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Instrument Lists, and Equipment Lists interpretation and development.\n\nWhy join Weir?\nWe live our values we think safety first, do the right thing, respect each other, aim high, and delight our customers.
