You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.\nWhat you’ll do\nOperational Leadership: Supervise day-to-day foundry operations ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production processes across multiple shifts. You will be hands-on, spending approximately 60% of your time on the floor and 40% in the office.\nTeam Development: Lead, coach, and develop Team Leaders and production employees to build a high-performing, engaged workforce. Foster accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning to maintain strong employee relations.\nProduction Management: Plan, coordinate, and monitor labor and resources to meet production schedules and operational targets. Daily tasks include conducting shift-start safety talks, delegating work, and sending end-of-shift reports outlining safety, production, and equipment status.\nContinuous Improvement: Apply Lean manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving to identify root causes, improve processes, and sustain operational improvements. Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve operational challenges.\nSafety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture. Maintain vigilance on safety and PPE compliance throughout shifts.\nWhat you’ll bring\nMust-haves:\n5+ years of supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing environments such as foundry, construction, mining, or heavy industrial sectors\nProven experience working in a unionized workforce environment\nStrong knowledge and application of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies\nExcellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with a proactive, engaged approach\nNice-to-haves:\nPost-secondary education in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field\nGreen Belt Six Sigma certification or equivalent continuous improvement training\nExperience with ERP systems such as Oracle for production tracking and reporting\nPrevious foundry operations experience\nWhy join Weir?\nWe live our values we think safety first, do the right thing, respect each other, aim high, and delight our customers.
