You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.\nWhat you’ll do\nWelding Operations: Perform MIG welding on large-scale mining buckets and heavy equipment components, focusing on heavy fabrication and repair work. Daily tasks include structural repairs, rebuilds, and modifications using appropriate welding techniques to ensure precision and durability.\nBlueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to accurately execute welding tasks according to specifications.\nMechanical Fabrication: Operate heavy-duty fabrication tools such as grinders, torches, plasma cutters, and air arc equipment to support welding and repair activities.\nQuality Assurance: Inspect welds for quality and compliance with specifications as determined by blueprints, ensuring all work meets safety and durability standards.\nTravel Requirements: Minimal travel expected; primarily onsite work at the Elko, NV facility.\nSafety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.\nWhat you’ll bring\nMust-haves:\nProven experience in MIG welding, especially on thick materials and structural components.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols accurately.\nMechanical aptitude with experience operating fabrication tools including grinders, torches, plasma cutters, and air arc equipment.\nSuccessful completion of a welding test as part of the hiring process.\nNice-to-haves:\nExperience working with large mining buckets or heavy industrial equipment.\nKnowledge of safety standards and best practices in heavy fabrication environments.\nFamiliarity with wear parts and repair techniques specific to mining equipment.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.\nWhy join Weir?\nWe live our values we think safety first, do the right thing, respect each other, aim high, and delight our customers.
