(T-joint Horizontal Weld & Butt Joint Pipe Weld)*\n\nPurpose of Role:\nOur Welders are responsible for Mig welding, using spray arc transfer processes to weld pipes, cyclones, and other applications.\nEssential Job Functions:\nClamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.\nInspects and measures machined work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.\nRemove rough spots from work pieces, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.\nChip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment.\nWeld components in flat and vertical welding positions.\nExamines finished work pieces to verify conformance with specifications\nOperate and maintain robotic welding equipment\nSet up welding equipment and adjust settings as needed\nMonitor the welding process to ensure quality and accuracy\nPerform routine maintenance on welding equipment\nFollow instructions and/or direction given by supervisors to complete assigned work projects\nSafety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.\nRequirements:\nProven experience Mig Welding with Spray Arc Transfer or Short Arc transfer Welding.\nStrong knowledge of welding techniques and equipment\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints and welding diagrams\nExcellent attention to detail and quality control skills\nAbility to proactively troubleshoot problems\nFabricating experience preferred\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, changing environment\nWork as a team within department and with other departments and Leads\nAbility to work scheduled hours and comply with the company policies\nRequired Physical Demands:\nMust be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.\nPhysical capability to properly handle tooling and safely set up large pieces; including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning products.\nMust be able to stand, sit and bend in a normal welding shop.\nWork Environment:\nManufacturing environment: loud noise levels, high temperatures, dirt and sand.\nRequired PPE: steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, dust masks, and/or respirators.\nTownley, part of Weir, is a proven industry leader in delivering advanced wear solutions for abrasion and corrosion challenges across dredging, mining, and power generation.
