We are seeking dynamic professionals who embody our core values of Integrity, Commitment, and Excellence to join our growing Crew in support of our customers across the federal, state, and commercial markets.\nWe are seeking a Network Virtualization Engineer/Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nThe successful candidate will:\nHave a strong understanding of troubleshooting and configuration of VMware to include protocols and switching, best-practice configurations, connectivity, and networking concepts.\nExpect to work on complex assignments and perform a wide range of VMware system administration activities with little to no direct supervision.\nProvide root-cause analysis for recurring or critical problems.\nWork closely with a team of system administrators, network engineers, and cybersecurity administrators to maintain a high-quality test environment for the Government customer.\nPerform vulnerability remediation and mitigations to reduce cybersecurity risks and ensure DoD compliance.\nConduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoral, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations.\nDocument necessary system changes and actions in appropriate systems of record to ensure historical data is captured per customer and mission requirements.\nAdvise Government customer on system status, optimization and improvement efforts in accordance with program objectives and design baselines as needed.\nAssist system administration team with the deployment of new virtual machines.\nPerform administration of virtualization environments to include troubleshooting, break/fix activities, the patching and remediation of servers, and system audit log reviews as needed.\nHave good written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience briefing customers and management.\nCore duty hours are 0900-1500 hours with flexibility to arrive earlier/later Monday-Friday. Occasional off shift, extended or weekend support may be required.\nWhat You Bring\nBasic Requirements:\nMust have 10, or more, years of general (full-time) work experienceMay be reduced with completion of advanced education\n\nMust have 5, or more, years of directly related experience (can be a mix of Network and Virtualization)\nMust have 1, or more, years of experience working in a management or leadership role\nMust have experience in Internet Protocols (e.g. DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL); Firewall configuration and troubleshooting; Multiple network types of telecommunications infrastructures.\nMust be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.\nMust be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers as well as independently on large field projects.\nDeep understanding of Foundational VCF Infrastructure including Virtualization (vSphere), Networking (NSX) and Storage (vSAN)\nMust be able to use SDDC Manager to patch, upgrade and provide overall system maintenance.\nFundamental understanding of how traffic flows through logical routers with the ability to implement these concepts in an NSX environment.\nMust be able to configure distributed stateful firewalling, NAT, load balancing and micro segmentation using NSX.\nMust have experience with the design, installation, upgrading and migration of storage using VMware vSAN.\nMust be able to migrate virtual machines and workloads from deprecated versions of vSphere to VMware Cloud Foundation.\nMust have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA, etc.) or higher\nDesired Requirements:\nHave a demonstrated understanding of the project management lifecycle and related processes.\nHave experience with PIM, L2 and L3 multicast and type I encryption devices\nHave experience with VXLAN, Juniper Apstra, VMWare Aria and RHEL Ansible\nHave experience with HPE server products\nHave experience creating and configuring virtual distributed switches.\nHave a VMware Certified Technical Associate - Data Center Virtualization (VCTA), VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV), VCAP Design, VCAP Deploy or VCDX-DCV Certification\nHave knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems and MDIOC operations.\nHave a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) certification\nHave experience with Python or Powershell programming and scripting.\nHave a degree in an IT or Engineering related discipline\nWhy LaunchTech?\nLaunchTech is built on a single standard: Excellence, Period.\nThis role places you at the center of network virtualization and infrastructure operations supporting the nation's most advanced missile defense test environment.\nWe offer:\nMedical, Dental, and Vision coverage\n401(k) with company match\nPaid Time Off (PTO)\nMission-driven work with opportunities to grow\nAnd more\nReady to Join the LaunchTech Crew?\nLaunchTech is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
