this role:\nWells Fargo is seeking an Infrastructure Engineering Manager (Mainframe Database) to lead teams responsible for Db2 and IMS database engineering, infrastructure, administration, and production support.\nIn this role, you will:\nManage and develop Infrastructure Engineers in roles with low to moderate complexity and risk\nLead teams responsible for Db2 and IMS database engineering, infrastructure, administration, and production support\nEstablish team priorities, clarify accountability, develop technical capabilities, and maintain appropriate coverage for production support\nProvide technical direction and ensure adherence to established database engineering and operational standards\nOversee the design, installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and lifecycle management of database infrastructure\nMaintain platform availability and reliability while reducing the frequency, duration, and business impact of database service disruptions\nProvide oversight for 24x7 production and non-production support, including incident response, problem management, and root-cause remediation\nReview high-impact outages and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented\nEnsure database environments meet enterprise requirements for security, change management, audit readiness, business continuity, and disaster recovery\nOversee monitoring, alerting, capacity management, configuration management, and operational health reporting\nDrive automation and continuous improvement across maintenance, monitoring, change execution, evidence collection, and other repeatable operational processes\nEvaluate technology and vendor solutions that improve reliability, security, performance, supportability, and cost efficiency\nPartner with application, infrastructure, cyber security, audit, resiliency, and vendor teams to deliver platform objectives\nManage the allocation of people and financial resources for Infrastructure Engineering\nMentor and develop team members and participate in recruiting and hiring talent.\nRequired Qualifications:\n5+ years of Infrastructure Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education\n3+ years of Leadership experience.\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience leading or supporting enterprise Mainframe database environments\nStrong knowledge and hands-on experience with IBM Db2 for z/OS\nStrong knowledge and hands-on experience with IBM IMS\nExperience with z/OS and Mainframe infrastructure environments\nExperience supporting highly available, business-critical database platforms\nExperience with database installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, performance tuning, and capacity management\nExperience with production incident management, problem management, and root-cause analysis\nExperience supporting technology risk, security, audit, compliance, business continuity, and disaster recovery requirements\nExperience driving automation and operational improvements within Mainframe database environments\nExperience managing vendor relationships and technology lifecycle or product strategy\nStrong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills.\nJob Expectations:\nProvide leadership and oversight for enterprise Db2 and IMS Mainframe database services\nSupport environments requiring 24x7 production coverage and timely incident Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location.
