The ideal candidate will have experience in the development lifecycle, identification of logged events to support security use case development and be able to research and use critical thinking to understand over the horizon detection capabilities through automated alerting.\nThe successful candidate will have a well-rounded understanding of on premises servers, network, endpoint and cloud detections among other, broad range technologies. The successful candidate will also be able to effectively convey observations and development deliverables to a wide audience.\nIn this role, you will:\nLead operationalization and effectiveness of security content\nProvide security consulting on large projects for internal clients to ensure conformity with corporate information, security policy, and standards\nDesign, document, test, maintain, and provide issue resolution recommendations for highly complex security solutions related to networking, cryptography, cloud, authentication and directory services, email, internet, applications, and endpoint security\nReview and correlate security logs\nUtilize subject matter knowledge in industry leading security solutions and best practices to implement one or more components of information security such as availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management, threat identification, modeling, monitoring, incident response, access management, and business continuity\nIdentify security vulnerabilities and issues, perform risk assessments, and evaluate remediation alternatives\nCollaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers\nLead a team to achieve objectives\nDemonstrate proficiency in using AI-assisted development and analysis tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot and approved code-centric agents)\nLeverage AI to accelerate system design, coding, testing, analysis, and troubleshooting\nApply strong technical judgment when validating and integrating AI-assisted outputs into solutions\nUnderstand and account for model limitations, security risks, and operational considerations\nApply AI responsibly in development and production environments\nEnsure AI usage aligns with security, compliance, privacy, and ethical standards\nRequired Qualifications:\n5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education\n2+ years of Regular Expression (regex) experience\n\n3+ years of SIEM development experience\n\nDesired Qualifications:\nAdvanced Information Security technical skills and understanding of information security practices and policies\n\nUnderstanding of Agile practices\n\nExperience working on a Scrum team\n\nAbility to manage complex issues and develop solutions\n\nAbility to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities\n\nKnowledge and understanding of data security controls including malware protection, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, content filtering, Internet proxies, encryption controls, and log management solutions\n\nExperience analyzing large data sets\n\nExperience with host and/or network log analysis as applied to incident response / threat hunting\n\nKnowledge of offensive security, with the ability to think like an adversary when hunting and responding to incidents\n\nStrong investigative mindset with an attention to detail\n\nAbility to present complex issues and recommended solutions to all levels of leadership\n\nJob Expectations:\n\nPosting End Date:\n22 Oct 2026*Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.\nWe Value Equal Opportunity\nWells Fargo is an equal opportunity employer.
