This role will provide technical leadership in the development of enterprise applications and Agentic AI solutions using modern full stack, cloud, and artificial intelligence technologies.\nThe Lead Specialty Software Engineer will design, develop, and implement scalable enterprise applications and Agentic AI solutions using modern software engineering technologies and frameworks. They will partner with business and technology teams to solve complex engineering challenges, contribute to technical design and architecture decisions, and drive engineering best practices across the software development lifecycle.\nThe ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on software engineering experience, expertise in modern application development, and experience building Agentic AI solutions. This role will also provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers while helping advance application modernization, automation, and responsible AI adoption.\nIn this role, you will:\nDesign, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise-scale applications and AI-powered solutions\nDevelop and maintain full stack applications using Angular and/or React, Spring Boot, SQL Server, and related technologies\nDesign and implement Agentic AI solutions using LangGraph, LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and agent orchestration frameworks\nDevelop Python-based services, automation solutions, APIs, and data processing pipelines\nCollaborate with product owners, architects, business partners, and engineering teams to define and implement technical solutions\nParticipate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews to ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices\nAnalyze and resolve complex technical challenges across application, database, integration, and AI solution components\nContribute to CI/CD, DevOps, testing, security, and operational excellence initiatives\nMentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers\nStay current on emerging technologies, particularly in AI, software engineering, and application modernization\nRequired Qualifications:\n5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education\n5+ years of experience developing Java applications using Spring Boot and microservices architectures\n5+ years of experience developing solutions using Python\n6+ months of experience building Agentic AI solutions using LangGraph or similar agent frameworks\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience with SQL Server, including data modeling, performance tuning, and query optimization\nExperience developing enterprise applications using Angular and/or React\nExperience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and AI application development\nExperience designing and developing RESTful APIs and distributed systems\nExperience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern SDLC practices\nExperience with Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms\nExperience with AI governance, observability, evaluation frameworks, and responsible AI practices\nExperience developing AI-powered productivity, automation, or modernization solutions\nExperience with semantic models, vector search, knowledge graphs, or metadata-driven architectures\nExperience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes\nExperience working in Agile environments using Jira and modern DevOps practices\nDemonstrated ability to mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership within a team\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills\nPassion for Agentic AI, software engineering innovation, and continuous learning\nJob Expectations:\nMust be able to work onsite in one of the posted locations per the company's hybrid policy\nServe as a senior technical contributor on strategic software engineering and AI initiatives\nDrive high-quality solution delivery through sound engineering practices and technical excellence\nPartner with business and technology teams to identify opportunities for automation, modernization, and AI adoption\nCommunicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and influence technical decisions through collaboration and expertise\nPromote a culture of innovation, ownership, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence\nPosting End Date:\n19 Oct 2026*Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.\nWe Value Equal Opportunity\nWells Fargo is an equal opportunity employer.
