This role sits within the Enterprise Risk Audit and Finance Technology Team (ERAFT) and will play a key role in supporting business-critical planning processes for Lines of Business (LOBs), while helping transform and modernize the technology ecosystem that powers them.\nThis role will design, implement, and support enterprise-scale technology solutions that enable financial forecasting, planning, and reporting across the organization. The Senior Software Engineer (Data) will leverage modern data engineering practices and automation to enable scalable and secure data processing capabilities.\nIn this role, you will:\nLead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments\n\nContribute to large scale planning of strategies\n\nDesign, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments\n\nReview moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures\n\nResolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements\n\nCollaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals\n\nLead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff\n\nThe ideal candidate should be able to ramp up on the implementation in relatively short duration\n\nThe ideal candidate should be able to think outside the box and come up with solutions for day to day implementation issues\n\nThe ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate ownership and develop/support the implementation holistically as opposed to specific modules within the implementation\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education\n\n2+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise data engineering solutions utilizing Pyspark and Object Storage\n\nDesired Qualifications:\nBachelors or higher degree in Engineering\n\nWorking experience in the financial forecasting and planning space\n\nExperience implementing CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps practices within data engineering environments.\n\nStrong proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience developing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and automation solutions\n\nProven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause resolution.\n\nStrong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data lakes, and data governance principles.\n\nExperience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and establishing engineering best practices\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, analytics, and business teams\n\nFamiliarity with multi-dimensional databases, particularly Essbase\n\nJob Expectations:\nThis position offers a hybrid work schedule.\n\nPosting End Date:\n14 Oct 2026*Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.\nWe Value Equal Opportunity\nWells Fargo is an equal opportunity employer.
