You’ll help turn evolving business needs into practical engineering solutions and lead a team accountable for delivering them.\nIf you’re energized by building strong teams, modernizing complex technology, solving meaningful data challenges, and turning AI potential into real-world capabilities, this is an opportunity to make an impact.\nWhat Success Looks Like:\nYou’ll build a team that delivers reliable, secure, scalable, and well-governed technology, strengthens the quality and accessibility of Legal data, and creates a strong foundation for AI-enabled capabilities. \nYou’ll be equally focused on engineering excellence, operational stability, talent development, and building trusted partnerships across the organization.\nYou’ll thrive here if you’re a hands-on engineering leader who can connect technology to business outcomes, develop great engineers, navigate complexity, and turn challenging problems into practical solutions.\nIn this role, you will:\nManage, coach, and develop a globally distributed team of engineers delivering Legal Technology data platforms, applications, pipelines, and integrations.\nLead the delivery and modernization of data solutions supporting legal hold, matter lifecycle management, and legal operations.\nPartner with architects and experienced engineers to align solutions with enterprise architecture, data strategy, application modernization, and technology standards.\nGuide technical design and engineering quality across SQL, ETL/data pipelines, APIs, batch processing, secure file transfers, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and containerized environments.\nStrengthen data quality, governance, lineage, access, retention, privacy, and readiness for AI-enabled capabilities.\nDrive security and operational excellence through vulnerability remediation, technology currency, release management, production support, incident management, and root cause analysis.\nServe as an escalation point for complex engineering and production issues, removing roadblocks and improving platform reliability, scalability, and performance.\nPartner with Product Managers and Product Owners to influence technology priorities, roadmaps, requirements, and delivery outcomes.\nFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, technical excellence, experimentation, and continuous improvement.\nIdentify opportunities to apply AI, machine learning, and automation to improve Legal Technology workflows and business outcomes.\nRequired Qualifications:\n5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.\n2+ years of Leadership experience.\n3+ Years of Datawarehouse, Datamart, Data lakes etc. \nDesired Qualifications:\nLegal Engineering experience: Experience applying technology, automation, AI, and data-driven solutions to legal workflows, including translating legal and business needs into scalable technology solutions.\nExperience in Legal Technology OR Legal Technology Startups.\nExperience leading software engineering, data engineering, data platform, or application development teams.\nStrong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, ETL/data pipelines, APIs, integrations, and enterprise data environments.\nExperience with modern engineering practices such as Git, CI/CD, automated testing, DevSecOps, Kubernetes, Helm, and secrets management.\nExperience with data quality, governance, lineage, security, and privacy within complex or regulated environments.\nExperience managing production applications, releases, incidents, vulnerabilities, and technology risk.\nThe ability to provide technical direction while coaching and developing engineering talent.\nExperience leading or partnering with globally distributed and offshore engineering teams.\nStrong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills in a highly matrixed organization.\nExperience with Legal or Compliance technology, including platforms such as Onit or Exterro, is a plus.\nExperience applying AI/ML or automation to enterprise workflows is highly desirable.\nJob Expectations and Core Values:\nBe Humble: You're smart yet always interested in learning from others\nWork Transparently: You always deal in an honest, direct, and transparent way.\nTake Ownership: You embrace responsibility and find joy in having the answers.\nLearn More: You regularly self-educate and improve your skill set.\nShow Gratitude: You show appreciation and respect to those you work with. \nThis Role offers a Hybrid work environment with 3 days in office.\nThere is No Visa Sponsorship available at this time for this role.\nPosting End Date:\n13 Nov 2026*Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.\nWe Value Equal Opportunity\nWells Fargo is an equal opportunity employer.
