The scope of this job includes building and optimizing comprehensive solutions that prioritize end-user efficiency and experience.\nLocation: This is a remote position. Candidates located within 50 miles of WellSky’s headquarters in Overland Park, KS will join our WHQ community and participate in our in-office collaboration experience.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead the design and architecture of major systems and services, and ensure software solutions are scalable, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with business needs.\nCollaborate with solution managers, engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize technical requirements that meet client needs and business objectives.\nCollaborate with teams to ensure sustained quality and reliability of our software solutions, and act as a go-to expert by identifying and resolving complex, high-priority issues in both development and production environments.\nActively contribute to code reviews, provide constructive feedback on design and implementation, and provide technical guidance to other engineers to elevate skills, productivity, and overall effectiveness.\nDrive innovation by evaluating and implementing new technologies, methodologies, and AI capabilities that improve team efficiency, software performance, and development processes.\nEnsure code meets functional and performance requirements, advocate for high-quality software, and ensure rigorous testing processes, including automated unit tests, integration tests, and other testing frameworks.\nLeverage AI tools and platforms as an integral part of daily responsibilities to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, and drive data-informed outcomes.\nAnalyze system requirements or specifications, translate them into actionable work units for the team to conceptualize, and develop high quality software using the established coding standards and development best practices \nMentor, teach, guide, and improve the productivity of other Software Engineers \nConduct system analysis and proof of concepts, with limited architect and/or leadership involvement, to determine best design or solution \nResearch and recommend software tools/frameworks/products and/or emerging technologies as needed for a solution \nLead and/or create architecture and/or design as needed to meet the requirements, integrate disparate systems, or manage changing technologies \nEnforce the development of unit tests, automated tests and performance tests as needed to ensure quality, supporting general debugging and isolating areas for improvement. Captures and analyzes performance test metrics and provides operational documentation \nReview appropriate documentation such as implementation manuals, support manuals/playbooks, performance testing guidelines, etc. as needed to run/support the software.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience \n8-12 years related work experience \nExperience in designing and developing Web-based applications using Python, Node JS, Graph QL, Restful Web API, NoSQL \nModern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React \nGit experience \nExperience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) \nExperience utilizing AI tools (preferred Claude) \nFamiliarity with observability and APM tools (e.g., New Relic, OpenTelemetry) \nSolid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation \nProficient in debugging applications and performance tuning \nProficiency in infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform) \nMust have excellent communication and leadership skills \nExperience with an Agile Scrum methodology \nGood hands on and working knowledge of application development and SDLC life cycle process \nPreferred Qualifications:\n8+ years of programming experience in languages such as Python & Django \n8+ years of experience in NoSQL \n8+ years of experience with cloud technologies such as GCP/AWS \n8+ years of CI/CD experience (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation, Elastic Search) \nFamiliarity with observability and APM tools (e.g., New Relic, OpenTelemetry) \nExperience utilizing AI tools (preferred Claude) \nExperience in healthcare domain \nHealthcare industry experience\nJob Expectations:\nWilling to work additional or irregular hours as needed\nMust work in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information\nMust be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time\nWellSky is where independent thinking and collaboration come together to create an authentic culture.
