This innovative approach represents a transformative shift offering a remarkable opportunity to shape the future of mental health and wellbeing in Queensland.\nAbout you\nDrawing on your real-life experience, coupled with skills learned through education and training, the Peer Wellbeing Navigator will support and represent people impacted by mental illness, psychological distress and substance use or addiction.\nYou will be comfortable to share personal experiences with program consumers within a safe and supported way and will have personal experience of a mental illness or psychological distress and recovery.\nMain responsibilities of the role include:\nProviding intentional peer support\nProviding one on one service navigation and care planning\nFacilitating group peer sessions\nCapacity building\nSupporting engagement with clinical supports\nYou will need to be available to work flexible working hours including morning, afternoon and weekend shifts, willing to work as required.\nWorking alongside other disciplines, you’ll play a key role in our collaborative network fostering a safe and inclusive space for healing and growth.\nYou will also need:\nPersonal Experience of mental distress and accessing and navigating health services, including mental health services\nCertificate IV/Diploma in Mental Health, AOD or tertiary qualification in social science OR 1+ year relevant work experience in a peer worker role\n100 points of identification\nEvidence of right to work in Australia\nDrivers Licence\nNational Police Check\nInternational Police Check (if required)\nWorking with Children Check - Blue Card and NDIS Workers Screening Check\nNDIS Workers Orientation Modules - free online course\nMedicare Mental Health Centre will provide the community with a free, safe and welcoming space to access mental health advice, supports and services.
