Many of today's delivery models were designed for a world where humans authored most of the code. \nThis role is for someone who enjoys building more than maintaining. Someone who can take an idea from concept to POC to production. Someone who sees friction, questions why it exists, and then automates it away.\n\nAbout the team\nThey operate within a broader platform engineering function responsible for developer experience, Kubernetes and platform support. This role sits in the team focused on our internal developer platform, the tooling engineers use to provision infrastructure, build pipelines and deploy into their cloud environment. The platform is used by multiple engineering teams across the business and is central to how they deliver software at scale. The team currently includes engineers across multiple seniority levels, and they are adding another senior engineer to strengthen their technical depth.\nWhat you'll do\n\nThey will rely on you to design and implement infrastructure using code, enabling consistent, repeatable and scalable environments across their cloud platform.\n\nThey will expect you to build and optimise cloud-native deployment pipelines that support high-frequency, low-risk releases.\n\nThey will look to you to enhance their internal developer platform, improving how engineers provision infrastructure and deploy services.\n\nThey will count on you to troubleshoot complex platform and performance issues across distributed systems and lead root-cause investigations.\n\nThey will expect you to contribute to architectural decisions across microservices, event-driven systems and cloud-native patterns.\n\nThey will rely on you to mentor other engineers and raise the engineering standard across the team. \n\nWhy this role is different\nThey build platforms for engineers, not end-users. They give you the opportunity to: \n\nInfluence platform architecture across cloud, containers and automation.\n\nBuild tools that are used across engineering teams, not just a single product.\n\nWork on complex distributed systems with real production scale.\n\nIntroduce new capabilities, including practical AI-driven enhancements to the developer experience.\n\nContribute as a senior technical contributor without needing formal line management. \n\nWhat they are looking for\n\nDeep experience in platform engineering, site reliability or DevOps engineering.\n\nAt least five years of hands-on experience working in cloud environments.\n\nStrong experience building infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or similar.\n\nSolid experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, for example Jenkins or GitHub Actions.\n\nStrong hands-on experience with containers and orchestration, particularly Kubernetes.\n\nExperience designing and operating cloud-native systems, including microservices and event-driven architectures.\n\nStrong scripting or programming capability, for example Python, Go, Bash or PowerShell.\n\nWe value experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, supported by relevant certifications.\n\nStrong understanding of networking, security, APIs, databases and distributed systems.\n\nEngineers who can clearly explain their architecture decisions and the systems they've built.\n\nThey value experience leading or influencing engineering practices and mentoring others. \n\nEducation (Minimum)\n\nA relevant degree in Information Technology\n\nEducation (Ideal or Preferred)\n\nA relevant degree in Information Technology -
