Werfen hires students with leadership potential and proven academic success. Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities.\nThe Electrical Engineering group has an opening for a Fall co-op who will contribute to the development of the next generation of medical diagnostic instruments. Product development activities include taking concepts through feasibility into engineering and manufacturing prototypes. The candidate should be comfortable both working independently and in project teams and needs to be interested in hands-on laboratory work.\nResponsibilities\nKey Accountabilities:\nTo perform entry level work of a routine nature requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related tasks.\nThe co-pp will be involved in the day-to-day activities of the team included aiding other departments as they relate to department projects. We expect the co-op to gain an in-depth knowledge of the product and its associated processes, particularly the process activities in-which they will be directly involved. The co-op will have opportunities to assist in nearly all aspects of the workflow.\nKey Attributes:\nRequires confidence in using Microsoft Word and Excel tools.\nRequires Enthusiasm, motivation, initiative and ability to work within an interactive and energetic workplace.\nReview process procedures, change orders, equipment specifications, validation plans, and reports.\nPerforms research on technology, equipment and tooling to improve process quality, yield or cost. Generates proposals based on research.\nAssistance in creating, reviewing and maintaining department files. \nPerforms experiments, analyzes and interprets numerical data from experiments.\nSummarizes findings by computer readouts, statistical summaries, graphs and other methods.\nDevelops and designs test fixtures\n\nDevelops code to automate measurements and analysis\n\nDesigns prototype circuits and PCBs\n\nTests electro-mechanical systems\n\nParticipates in technical design reviews.\n\nDesired but not required:\nExperience with laboratory equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, data loggers, logic analyzers, and basic soldering skills. \nExperience with basic board/cable troubleshooting and prototyping.\nExperience with circuit simulations such as LTSpice.\nFamiliarity with basic hardware coding (C/Python/Verilog).\nExperience reading and creating technical drawings (PCBA/cables/fixtures).\nExperience with Altium/PADs or similar EDA software.\nQualifications\nMinimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:\nCurrently pursuing B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 2 college semesters complete.\nAbility to multitask.\nThe hourly range for this role is $22/hr to $30/hr.
