We’re passionate about providing healthcare professionals the most valuable and complete solutions to improve hospital efficiency and enhance patient care.\nOverview\nPosition Summary:\nSenior, hands-on technical role accountable for test automation architecture, frameworks, infrastructure, and engineering standards across Beacon, HCP, EBF, firmware, component, and other software-intensive programs.\nEstablish scalable automation spanning component, firmware, API, integration, system, UI, and end-to-end testing.\nDesign reusable test infrastructure for physical systems, virtual machines, containers, and cloud environments.\nCollaborate with Software, Firmware, Systems, QE, DevOps, Cybersecurity, and Architecture teams to promote testability by design and continuous testing.\nExpected to architect, code, prototype, troubleshoot, review designs/code, and technically mentor engineers.\nResponsibilities\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn the test automation architecture, strategy, standards, and technical roadmap.\nBuild reusable automation frameworks with Python and suitable supporting technologies.\nDevelop automation architecture for firmware, components, EBF, subsystems, APIs, integrated systems, and end-to-end workflows.\nCreate reusable test libraries, harnesses, simulators, mocks, utilities, and test infrastructure.\nDesign automation environments using AWS, VMs, Docker, containers, and physical/virtual test environments.\nIncorporate automation into CI/CD and DevOps pipelines.\nEstablish automated processes for environment provisioning, configuration, deployment, test execution, result collection, and diagnostics.\nSupport parallel and scalable test execution across virtualized/containerized environments.\nSet engineering standards for Git, code reviews, configuration management, logging, diagnostics, traceability, and maintainability.\nAdvance testability by design, including APIs, automation interfaces, observability, logging, simulation, and fault isolation.\nInvestigate complex failures across software, firmware, infrastructure, networking, and system integration boundaries.\nMinimize flaky tests, environment dependencies, execution time, and automation technical debt.\nLead architecture and code reviews while providing hands-on technical mentoring to automation engineers.\nPromote reuse of common automation capabilities across programs instead of independent product-specific frameworks.\nCore Technologies / Experience\nPython, including framework/library development\nC/C++ and/or C# working knowledge\nFirmware and embedded-system testing\nComponent/subsystem automation\nEBF / engineering build and test frameworks\nAWS / cloud-hosted test infrastructure\nVirtual Machines / virtualization\nDocker and containerization\nLinux and Windows environments\nCI/CD / DevOps\nJenkins/Gitlab/Bitbucket/AWS/Azure DevOps or equivalent pipeline technologies\nGit\nREST/API automation\nHardware/software integration\nTest harnesses, simulators and mocks\nTest-data and environment management\nLogging, diagnostics, observability and automated reporting\nNetworking fundamentals relevant to distributed/integrated test environments\nSQL/data validation where applicable\nExpectations\nStrong software engineering and architecture mindset, rather than script-based test automation.\nMust be hands-on and capable of designing and coding automation frameworks.\nExperience designing automation that scales across multiple products, environments, and teams.\nAbility to operate across firmware → component → application → system → cloud test layers.\nStrong debugging and root-cause-analysis capabilities across complex integrated environments.\nAbility to modernize legacy automation while maintaining ongoing product verification.\nDemonstrated ability to create reliable, reusable and maintainable automation infrastructure.\nQualifications\nMin Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:\nBachelor's Degree plus a minimum of 10 years of related experience or Master's Degree plus a minimum of 8 years of related experience or waiver based on experience. Degree should be in a technical discipline such as Chemistry, Math, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science. \nProficiency with a personal computer and software packages.\nAbility to administer software engineering tools; configuration management, requirements management, and defect management.\nAbility to operate instrumentation.\nPossesses strong written and oral communications skills. \nAbility to work in a team environment of software developers and testers. \nProficient in code languages (Assembly, C, C++, Java, C#, etc.) found in product development.\nSkills & Capabilities:\nProficiency with a personal computer and software packages\nAbility to administer software engineering tools; configuration management, requirements management, and defect management\nAbility to operate instrumentation\nPossesses strong written and oral communications skills\nAbility to work in a team environment of software developers and testers\nTravel Requirements:\n Pay Transparancy Language\nThe annual base salary range for this role is currently $165K to $200K range.
