Engagements range across market growth strategy, product strategy, operational transformation of functions such as R&D / Engineering, Customer Support, Customer Success, etc., AI strategy and roadmap development, AI solution design, and customer retention improvement strategy.\nIn addition to client delivery, you will have the opportunity to assist with business development (hunting new clients and building relationships with existing), along with contributing to internal practice development leadership. Managers within West Monroe have three main responsibilities:\nClient Delivery\nOwn and drive day-do-day execution of Strategy & Operations engagements (analysis, research, content development, project management, project team leadership) for Software & High-Tech and Private Equity clients while demonstrating advisory capabilities with high-level client counterparts such as C-level executives, Business Unit GMs, and Private Equity Investment and Operating Teams\nContribute to fast-paced due diligence engagements for Private Equity and Corporate Strategic clients investing in Software & High-Tech, with an ability to evaluate the market opportunity, operating model, and their effects on margins, revenue, and growth risks\nPlay a key role in strategy & operational transformation projects within the Software & High-Tech sector (e.g., post-merger integration, carve-out/divestitures, operating model transformation) focused on initiatives such as product strategy, target operating model development, post-sales operations and retention improvement, and transaction program advisory\nDrive market research (TAM, market growth dynamics, headwinds / tailwinds, competitive landscape), analysis of software financials (revenue mix by product/geo/BU, gross /net retention and churn, SaaS margins, etc.), analysis of key software functions (R&D / Engineering, sales & marketing, customer success / support, etc.)\nDrive creation of project deliverables such as executive-level PowerPoint decks summarizing findings / analysis and synthesizing recommendations, development of financial models e.g. multi-year P&L forecasts\nLeverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.\nApply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.\nPractice Development\nBuild data-driven methodologies and assets for evaluating Software & High-Tech businesses and manage related internal initiatives\nEnhance analysis and presentation frameworks used in Software & High-Tech advisory\nCollaborate with a team of Software & High-Tech industry, technology and operational consulting teams to develop and enhance delivery capabilities across West Monroe’s practice areas\nActively participate in the performance management process\nBusiness Development\nSupport opportunities to provide prospects and clients with advisory services for Software & High-Tech businesses and Private Equity Investors; collaborate with practice partners to support these opportunities\nUnderstand client investment needs/constraints and help tailor proposals appropriately to meet their needs\nDevelop go-to-market messaging and sales materials to support business development for prospects and clients\nCreate work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for potential engagements\nActively participate in Software / Technology and M&A industry events\nAttend networking events and actively build and leverage a professional network and affiliate network in the local community \nQualifications:\nMinimum of 6+ years of work experience including at least one of the following:\nOperational role within a B2B SaaS company (i.e., Corporate Strategy Manager, FP&A Manager, Chief of Staff to BU Leadership)\nM&A experience at B2B SaaS strategic acquirer\nExperience in specific Software & High-Tech sub-sectors (e.g. FinTech, Healthcare IT, Marketing Tech, etc.) preferred, but not mandatory\nPrevious experience independently leading a workstream managing 1-2 team members\nSound understanding of software / SaaS business model and economics, including emerging developments and trends in AI and agentic capabilities\nKnowledge of go-to-market practices in a technology business, e.g., sales effectiveness, pricing, sales operations, renewals etc.\nExperience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs\nExcellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills\nExperience managing client relationships\nStrong analytical, problem solving, and quality assurance experience\nDemonstrated experience designing and building financial or operational models (e.g., financial projections, capacity forecasting, pricing & margin analysis) across research, assumption design & refinement, and model development\nStrong communication skills to be able to work with C-level clients\nAbility to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship\nBased on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below).
