You will partner with our clients and other West Monroe team members on transformational AI projects. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and design teams to architect and own AI-driven solutions.\nPrincipal AI Software Engineers in our TechEx practice have these primary responsibilities:\nFunctional Responsibilities:\nCollaborate with team members to design and develop software applications across multiple languages.\nCollaborate with clients to understand their business needs.\nUse an Agile approach to iteratively deliver products.\nInternal Responsibilities:\nProblem-solvers with natural innovative and analytical skills\nExcellent leaders with strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and organizational skills.\nAble to efficiently manage multiple tasks and contribute in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.\nMotivated to work with and learn a variety technologies and languages.\nKey Responsibilities \nDesign, build, and deploy AI agents that automate workflows and enhance platform intelligence. \nDevelop advanced prompting strategies for LLMs (e.g., Claude, GPT, Gemini) to support engineering and product use cases. \nOwn the end-to-end lifecycle of AI features-from ideation and prototyping to production deployment and monitoring. \nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI capabilities with business goals and user needs. \nIntegrate AI solutions with existing backend services and APIs (e.g., Java, React, AWS). \nEnsure scalability, security, and compliance of AI systems.\nStay current with emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and best practices. \nLeverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.\nApply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required.\n8+ years of experience in software development.\nExpertise with Object Oriented concepts.\nExperience integrating AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs. \nYou have experience with several of our core technologies:\nBack-end: C#, Java, Javascript, Ruby, Python\nFront-end: JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React, Vue.JS, HTML5, CSS3\nMobile: React Native, Swift, Kotlin\nDatabase: SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL\nCloud: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), GCP\nSoftware engineering workflow automation with AI\nAI-enabled tooling: Prompt Engineering for working with Code, Cursor, Claude Sonnet\nAutomation of written unit and integration tests\nYou have experience with several of the following patterns & tools:\nPatterns: MVC, MVVM, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), REST, GraphQL\nSource Control: Git, Azure DevOps\nDevOps Tooling: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes\nPackage Management: Bower, NPM, Yarn, NuGet\nTesting: XUnit, MSTest, Jasmine, Karma, JUnit, RSpec\nThrive within a fast-paced, collaborative, Agile/Scrum project environment.\nExcellent team, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills.\nExperience mentoring junior team members and providing reviews.\nYou’re smart, versatile, and passionate about delivering the highest caliber of code.\nExcellent communication ability with team members and clients in English.\nBased on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below).
