While Energy & Utilities will be your primary focus, you will also have opportunities to support clients across other highly regulated industries, including Financial Services and Healthcare. \nWhat You’ll Do \n Architect Secure IT/OT & Enterprise Environments \nDesign secure, scalable architectures across converged IT and OT environments \n\nSecure integration of operational systems such as SCADA, EMS, ADMS, DERMS, and other industrial platforms with enterprise IT systems (ERP, CRM, analytics, cloud platforms) \n\nDevelop security reference architectures supporting IT/OT convergence and infrastructure modernization \n\nEmbed Zero Trust principles, segmentation, identity controls, and monitoring into modernized environments \n\n Lead Enterprise Cybersecurity Tooling Strategy \nEvaluate, select, design, and implement enterprise cybersecurity solutions across: \n\nIdentity & Access Management (IAM) and privileged access \n\nNetwork security and micro-segmentation \n\nEndpoint detection & response (EDR/XDR) \n\nSIEM and SOAR platforms \n\nOT monitoring platforms (e.g., Dragos and other ICS security solutions) \n\nData protection, DLP, and cloud security services \n\nDevelop integrated tooling roadmaps aligned to business risk, regulatory requirements, and operational resilience \n\nIntegrate OT and enterprise telemetry into unified SOC and monitoring environments \n\nTransform Cybersecurity Operations \nAssess and modernize IT and OT security operations capabilities \n\nArchitect and implement SIEM, SOAR, and next-generation detection & response solutions \n\nDesign SOC operating models that support hybrid IT/OT ecosystems \n\nLeverage automation, orchestration, and advanced analytics to enhance detection and response outcomes \n\nDesign & Secure AI-Enabled Environments \nEvaluate and design AI-enabled solutions that enhance cybersecurity operations, including: \n\nAI-assisted threat detection and anomaly analysis \n\nAutomated investigation and response workflows \n\nPredictive risk modeling and analytics \n\nArchitect secure AI infrastructure that supports lines of business, ensuring: \n\nSecure model deployment environments \n\nData protection and access controls for training and inference pipelines \n\nMonitoring and logging for AI systems \n\nAlignment to responsible AI and regulatory considerations \n\nAdvise clients on risk management strategies for AI systems, including model integrity, data security, and operational resilience \n\nStrengthen Governance, Risk & Compliance \nLead security posture and maturity assessments \n\nDesign and implement programs aligned to frameworks such as: \n\nNERC CIP \n\nIEC 62443 \n\nNIST CSF / 800-53 \n\nISO 27001 \n\nAlign AI, IT, and OT security controls with regulatory and compliance requirements \n\nSupport audit readiness and control validation initiatives \n\nDrive Client & Practice Impact \nFacilitate architecture workshops, security assessments, and executive strategy discussions \n\nAct as a trusted advisor to CIOs, CISOs, and operational leadership \n\nSupport proposal development, solution design, and client presentations \n\nContribute to development of IT/OT and AI security reference architectures and thought leadership \n\nWhat You Bring \n7-10+ years of experience in security architecture, enterprise cybersecurity engineering, or IT/OT architecture \nExperience working within or consulting to Energy & Utilities (electric, gas, or water) or other highly regulated industries \nStrong understanding of IT/OT convergence and industrial control systems (ICS) security \nDemonstrated experience designing, implementing, and evaluating enterprise cybersecurity tooling, including: \nIAM and identity governance \nNetwork security architecture and segmentation \nEndpoint detection technologies \nSIEM/SOAR and SOC tooling \nOT monitoring platforms (e.g., Dragos or similar) \nCloud-native security solutions \nExperience modernizing and integrating security operations across hybrid environments \nFamiliarity with AI-enabled security technologies and securing AI/ML infrastructure \nExperience with governance, risk, and compliance frameworks such as NERC CIP, IEC 62443, NIST, or ISO standards \nStrong executive communication and stakeholder engagement skills \nAbility to translate business and operational objectives into secure, scalable architectural solutions \nWillingness to travel for client engagements \nPreferred / Plus Qualifications \nPrior consulting experience in a client-facing advisory role \nExperience leading IT/OT transformation programs \nFamiliarity with emerging AI governance and model risk management frameworks \nRelevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCSP, cloud security certifications) \nExperience with platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Google SecOps, Palo Alto, ServiceNow SecOps, SailPoint, Okta, CrowdStrike, or similar enterprise tools \nWhy West Monroe?
