Responsible & accountable for adherence to procedures, proper production, quality, maintenance, safety & schedules on assigned shifts; promote effective team member/Company relations to help improve customer service & Company profits. Assigned shifts may include fixed &/or rotating shifts.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nOversee the day-to-day production activities of plant products at the most economical cost consistent with prescribed quality standards in a timely manner. The incumbent is responsible for the cost performance of the assigned unit.\nCreate short-interval look-ahead production schedules that make sure that upcoming events are communicated, tracked and are being proactively attended -to.\nPromote all site initiatives including plant safety programs, lean initiatives, training programs, etc., and consistently interpret and apply all HR policies, practices and procedures among our plant personnel.\nAssure Standard Operating Instructions and Good Manufacturing Practices are adhered to.\nParticipate in the resolution of employee complaints and personnel or performance issues and/or coach employees to encourage teamwork. Routinely evaluate and review employee performance. Perform counseling with employees in regard to job performance, attendance, etc.\nManage available resources to ensure on time production and delivery of customer orders.\nVerify production data is accurately recorded.\nMaintain and verify accuracy of the hours each employee has worked.\nEnsure the smooth startup of new processes and on-going production in all area departments.\nMaximize capital resources and assist in maintaining equipment and facilities in proper working conditions.\nConstantly evaluate existing processes and establish teams to continuously improve these processes.\nPerforms other duties, as assigned based on business needs.\nConforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.\nExhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.\nEducation\nBachelor's Degree technical or business-related field preferred.\nWork Experience\nMinimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment required.\nPrior supervisory experience.\nPreferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities\nMust have effective problem solving and interpersonal skills.\nModerate knowledge of computer programs and SPC applications.\nAble to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.\nSupport and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target.\nAble to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times.\nAble to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.\nLicense and Certifications\nHealth ServicesFirst Aid Certification Upon Hire preferred.\nHealth ServicesCPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Upon Hire preferred.\nTravel Requirements\n10%: Up to 26 business days per year\nPhysical Requirements\nLight-Exerting up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force frequently constantly to move objects.\nAdditional Requirements\nSelf-motivated and solution-oriented personality.\nExcellent written and verbal skills.\nGood communication, project management, and interpersonal skills.\nGood organizational skills.\nEffective problem-solving skills.\nMust wear safety toe shoes, safety goggles, and hearing protection, as required, in production areas.\nMust follow and comply with Plant’s Dress and Hygiene Code (SOI).\nMust follow and comply with all Company and Plant policies, procedure (SOIs), rules and State and Federal laws.\nShift\nPosition is Night Shift.\nWest is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company.
