And are equally committed to creating a healthier environment and planet through our sustainability efforts.\nJob Summary\nThe Tooling Engineers objective is to support the facility, commercial team, and mold tooling vendors on new mold development projects and legacy mold improvement projects. In parallel, the position also provides innovative solutions and services to the tooling group and other departments within the company, where possible, to assist with meeting company goals and objectives. In this role, you will be part of a team that relies on effective teamwork and global collaboration in a fast pace and dynamic environment. This role may be responsible to set-up, operate, and monitor CNC and/or manual Milling machines to provide operational support for the construction, assembly, and/or repair of molds, dies, and ancillary equipment.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nMaintain and support existing tooling.\nParticipate in new product development design reviews to provide insight and direction so as to avoid mold design/functional problems and issues as assigned.\nCoordinate tooling orders needed for the facility.\nWork with internal and external mold designers and tool shops to ensure compliance to established mold design and construction guidelines and standards.\nWork with the global tooling team to bring new tools in as needed.\nActively participate in discussions to evaluate, qualify and choose new mold and manifold suppliers as requested.\nPerform detailed reviews of new mold designs to ensure appropriate tolerances are applied and that materials of construction, actuators, finishes and coatings are properly specified and adequate to perform intended purpose.\nParticipate in new mold acceptance runs to insure proper mold action and function.\nSupport Process Engineers and technicians during initial mold sampling, trials and validation runs to document, troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.\nSupport operations to resolve problems and issues as related to mold design and function as assigned.\nMaintain mold drawing system and update mold designs for internal ECN’s.\nDesign metrology fixtures and assist with measurement routine planning.\nSupport process improvements, cost reductions/savings, scrap reductions, etc. through the implementation of LEAN concepts.\nWork with our commercial sales team and customers for existing annual tooling evaluations and financials needed for any major repairs.\nOther duties as assigned.\nEducation\nEducation: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline to include: mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial, or plastics.\nWork Experience\nExperience: 1-3 years of job-related experience\nKnowledge of the basic principles of injection molding, systematic molding, mold design, mold assembly, and machine operations.\nAdvanced in using SolidWorks. required\nExcellent computer skills required including all MS Office applications. required\nPreferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities\nMust have excellent interpersonal & problem-solving skills & be able to interface with employees in all levels of the organization; must possess good organization, time-management, negotiating & conflict resolution skills.\nExcellent computer skills required including all MS Office applications.\nAdvanced in using SolidWorks.
