Summary\nDe Havilland Aircraft of Canada is currently recruiting a Flight Test Engineer to join our team in Calgary, AB.\nReporting to the Flight Testing Manager with the De Havilland Flight Operations (DFO) & Test Department, this role requires the Flight Test Engineer to plan, execute and report test results to the DHC Product Development Teams.\nKey Duties and Responsibilities:\nOperate under the day-to-day authority/supervision of the Manager of Flight Test Engineering\nCollaborate with key stakeholders within Product Development (i.e. System Engineering, Flight Sciences, etc.) and Project Management personnel to develop/define test strategies and plans\nCreate flight test schedules, test cards and related documentation (e.g. TDS (Test Definition Sheets), THA (Test Hazard Analysis), Flight Test Orders & Reports, etc.)\nObserve/Adhere to: (i) FAA (Federal Aviation Authorities), and TC (Transport Canada/National Aircraft Certification) regulations for flight test, (ii) proper use of safety risk management tools and processes, and (iii) test equipment operating procedures and limitations\nProvide oversight on the test aircraft or FTV’s (Flight Test Vehicle) configuration and ensure conformity is appropriate and/or applicable for test\nConduct or execute testing onboard an FTV, or modified production aircraft and/or Systems Integrated Test Stand/Rig (SITS/R)\nOperate FTV flight test equipment and/or DAS (Data Acquisition System)\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace and/or Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent combination of education and related experience\n15+ years in a flight test environment for commercial/civil large category aircraft\nFlight experience (e.g. gliding and/or private pilot license) is considered an asset, but not a prerequisite\nSkills:\nMS Office Suite – Intermediate (Excel, PPT, Word, Outlook)\nYou have a very good understanding in the following areas:\nflight test practices and principles\ncivil transport category large aircraft certification requirements\naircraft systems and their operation\nYou have the ability to read/interpret aircraft system schematics\nYou have familiarity with DAS (Data Acquisition Systems) and FTI (Flight Test Instrumentation)\nYou are self-motivated and exhibit good communication, planning, problem solving, and organization skills\nStrong time management
