This role acts as a liaison between direct employees and the Operations Manager and is primarily responsible for ensuring the execution of short-term team objectives.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nProvide leadership to ensure the team remains aligned with established short-term goals and objectives and meets daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.\nEnsure employees adhere to all site health and safety policies and procedures. Support and provide resources for health and safety activities, including meetings, investigations, and audits.\nEnsure direct staff and team leads comply with all applicable regulations, standards, and laws, including Transport Canada requirements.\nEnsure employees complete all required initial and recurrent training as directed by the organization.\nEstablish and reinforce positive, respectful, and transparent communication and interactions.\nEnsure the team has actionable plans to execute daily and weekly tasks, with risks, delays, and issues monitored on an ongoing basis.\nEnsure appropriate resources are available to complete planned work.\nEscalate operational risks, delays, and other issues to the appropriate level of management.\nMaintain awareness of employee engagement and team morale, ensure the workplace culture aligns with organizational direction, and report concerns as required.\nAdditional Accountabilities\nEnsure appropriate performance metrics are clearly defined, communicated, and understood by the operational team.\nProvide daily and weekly updates on work progress against plan, including mitigation plans where required.\nEnsure chargehands provide appropriate support, training, and development to team members.\nEnsure employee performance is managed effectively, with progressive discipline identified where required and performance improvement plans implemented when necessary.\nEnsure the team is adequately resourced to execute established work plans.\nRecommend process and performance improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.\nEducation and Experience\nCertificate, diploma, or degree in aviation, aerospace, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nMinimum of four years of progressively responsible leadership experience in aviation or aerospace, preferably within a manufacturing or aerostructures environment.\nExperience coaching and supervising frontline employees and supervisors in a unionized environment is considered an asset.\nExperience with continuous improvement initiatives or programs.\nStrong planning, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.\nExperience facilitating meetings and delivering training is considered an asset.\nOther Requirements\nTravel may be required.
