As a Principal Engineer I, you also facilitate dialogue and activities, and work to ensure team collaboration including teams outside of your domain. You'll develop effective presentations and narratives for IT audiences. In this role, you'll also develop the technical skills of one more junior engineers.We are looking for a highly skilled Principal Engineer I - Full Stack developer with expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing high-volume and high-performance applications. This role requires deep knowledge of front-end and back-end technologies, microservices architecture, APIs, and cloud-based database management. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing NoSQL Azure-managed databases (Azure Cosmos DB) and will play a key role in ensuring application security, scalability, and reliability.\nYou’ll be playing a key technology role in our Digital Asset platform.\nBuild the solution design of efforts that can be handed off to lower level engineers for execution assuring reuse of platforms where possible.\nReview technical plans developed by lower level engineers and analysts to assure quality designs prevail which can support the volumetrics of our business partners objectives.\nBuild comprehensive measurement dashboards that give performance insight into key applications of the bank which can feed operational results of our business partners.\nWork independently or sometimes with architecture team counterparts to lay out the final documentation required for proper ongoing reference of the given solution, including physical and logical layouts with cross reference to use case models while enforcing standards, as well as assisting in the modification or buildout of procedures that support areas of operations across IT.\nArchitect, design, and develop high-performance, high-volume payment channel applications with a focus on security, scalability, and reliability.\nLead front-end development using ReactJS, HTML, CSS, ensuring responsive, efficient, and intuitive user interfaces.\nImplement advanced .NET backend development concepts, including asynchronous programming, multithreading, dependency injection, and API optimizations.\nDesign and manage RESTful and GraphQL APIs, ensuring rate limiting, authentication, authorization, observability, and efficient data processing.\nDevelop and manage microservices architecture, implementing event-driven patterns, API gateways, service discovery, and containerization.\nEnsure application performance optimization, including caching strategies, database indexing, and load balancing.\nManage and optimize Azure Cosmos DB, ensuring efficient data modeling, partitioning strategies, and query performance tuning.\nImplement DevSecOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated security testing, and infrastructure-as-code deployment.\nIntegrate advanced SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) practices to ensure high-quality code, test-driven development (TDD), and continuous integration.\nStrengthen application security through OWASP best practices, API security mechanisms, secure coding principles, and identity management.\nWork in a fast-paced, agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver payment solutions.\nImplement observability tools (such as AppDynamics, ELK, and Grafana) to monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.\nMentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall technical excellence of the team.\nWhat you'll need:\n8+ years of Mulesoft development experience.\nMulesoft Certification\nBachelor's degree in related field required; Masters or MBA in related field preferred.\nPrevious leadership experience preferred.\nAdvanced to expert knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.\nAdvanced to expert knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.\nAdvanced to expert experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously with an established expertise in one or more key domains of the bank (Deposits, Loans, Operations or Reporting)with the ability to walk through top level process design. Capable of working with regulatory partners like the CFPB, OCC and FRB through audits and collaboration efforts as situations arise.\nAdvanced to expert familiarity with the capability model across IT and the applications and infrastructures available for engagement in solutioning across the bank to develop results that leverage existing capabilities in addition to implementing new solutions when required.
