It’s real systems, at real scale, people solving some of the hardest challenges in technology today.\nWe’re looking for people who want to build, solve, and operate at that level.\nJoin us and let’s shape the future of data.\n Responsibilities\nDesign and develop electrical systems for photonics, including electrical interfaces, laser driver circuits, TIA interfaces, monitoring circuits, and control functions.\nDefine and optimize PCB/FPC architectures, component selection, and high-speed interconnect designs to meet signal integrity, power integrity, and reliability requirements.\nCollaborate closely with optical engineers on laser control, photodiode monitoring, optical power management, temperature sensing, and system integration.\nPerform electrical characterization and validation using oscilloscopes, BERTs, VNAs, SMUs, optical power meters, and related laboratory equipment.\nAnalyze and resolve issues related to signal integrity, power integrity, jitter, noise, crosstalk, thermal effects, and overall system performance.\nLead schematic design, hardware bring-up, prototype debugging, verification, and design optimization activities.\nConduct design reviews and drive engineering solutions balancing performance, cost, manufacturability, and schedule.\nCollaborate with global teams and suppliers to support product development, qualification, and manufacturing introduction.\n Required\nMaster's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Optoelectronics, or related fields.\nStrong experience in high-speed electronic design and hardware development.\nExperience in schematic design, PCB/FPC development, hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation.\nFamiliarity with signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), and high-speed interface design.\nProficiency with Allegro, Altium, ADS, CST, or equivalent design and simulation tools.\nHands-on experience with oscilloscopes, BERTs, VNAs, SMUs, and other high-speed measurement equipment.\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.\nPreferred\nExperience in one or more of the following areas:\nSilicon Photonics (SiPh)\nOptical Engine Development\nCPO (Co-Packaged Optics)\nLaser Driver Design\nTIA Design\nAPC (Automatic Power Control)\nTEC Control\nOptical Module Design (400G/800G/1.6T)\nHigh-Speed SerDes Systems\nOptical Monitoring and Diagnostics\n WD thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
