It’s real systems, at real scale, people solving some of the hardest challenges in technology today.\nWe’re looking for people who want to build, solve, and operate at that level.\nJoin us and let’s shape the future of data.\n Broad Functions\nWorking within Supply Chain & Procurement, as part of the Sustainability Team, this role will provide support to deliver sustainability objectives across the end-to-end supply chain.\nResponsible for Sustainability and Integrated Management System-related programs in the supply chain.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nInitially focusing on activity in relation to the responsible sourcing management within supply chain ethical standards and sustainable sourcing initiatives across Western Digital. The position will manage due diligence processes, supply chain mapping, and insights, whilst helping to develop and embed more sustainable supply chain practices.\nThe role will support the corporate sustainability team and may undertake specific supply chain focused projects to help deliver solutions.\nAccountability\nIn order for the incumbent to deliver the expected outcome, the incumbent is authorized to perform the following:\nResponsible for developing and managing supply chain mapping tools and databases.\nCommunication and issue of information to supply chain, ensuring clarity, appropriate messaging and timeliness. Instigate and conduct supplier meetings where appropriate to support sustainability objectives.\nCo-ordination of supplier meeting, including tracking invites, responses and supporting with presentations.\nEnsuring that all relevant insights are captured and processed in a timely and accurate manner. This is to be achieved by collaborating closely with various business partners.\nEvaluating procurement and supply chain insights, identifying and pursuing missing data and working to improve the quality of data. Make recommendations and ensure clear communication of requirements through the supply chain. Assess and communicate risks.\nPreparing and issuing relevant data for reporting purposes, audit and cost/ benefit analysis.\nUsing insights to identify opportunities and to make recommendations to improve approach, support the development of supply chain standards and help inform next phases of activity.\nWorking alongside the Corporate Sustainability team to initiate and embed sustainability initiatives. Helping to implement agreed strategies and support objectives.\nWorking in collaboration with various business partners, to enable the delivery of objectives. Where appropriate instigating and conducting stakeholder meetings, managing correspondence, building engagement and resolving queries.\nDeveloping knowledge and expertise as a sustainability and responsible sourcing specialist. Demonstrating in depth understanding of the broader industry, as well as relevant environmental and social considerations. Learning and managing new technical skills, processes and systems as required.\nIdentifying further opportunities to help develop sustainability objectives. Supported by Category Manager and Corporate Sustainability team.\nPromoting good inter departmental relations and contributing to the establishment of a professional and efficient department reputation.\n Required\nDegree level in a STEM subject.\nWorking in a similar sustainability and responsible sourcing role. In-depth understanding of the broad industry as well as relevant environmental and social considerations.\nSustainability, Purchasing or Supply Professional Certification\nStakeholder management, including suppliers. Commercially astute analyst, a natural problem solver with an understanding of leveraging operating efficiencies.
