This position is also responsible for the cleanliness of the general plant area.\nResponsibilities\nOperate various pieces of equipment including but not limited to forklifts, rollers, grinders, mixing, and batching equipment.\nPerform functions associated with the mixing, batching, and pelleting processes.\nFunctionally cross-trained in other support roles.\nOrganize the bulk order loads with the appropriate truck driver for loading.\nClear documentation of load out records to maintain traceability\nVisual quality inspection of finished product being shipped, and elevate to appropriate manager/supervisor when results are inconsistent.\nRun the batching and mixing software programs.\nClear documentation of batch records to maintain traceability.\nFollow the correct sequencing and batching protocols.\nControl regulation of steam onto the product.\nUnderstand the effect of steam on the pelleting procedure.\nDistinguish different pellet die sizes and install into appropriate machine.\nUnderstand/distinguish pellet quality and elevate to appropriate manager/supervisor when results are inconsistent.\nChange the pellet die to a variety of different plates with assistance.\nSet pellet rolls pursuant to written policy/procedure.\nMonitor electrical equipment for amp-load to maintain a consistent pellet quality.\nUnload bulk truck deliveries in a safe and efficient manner. \nMonitor assigned plant operations (e.g. controls for roller, grinder, mixer, etc).\nPerform routine maintenance of all equipment associated with the mixing, batching, and pelleting processes. \nPerform general clean-up inside/outside load out area, pellet mill and finished product area including sweeping, shoveling etc. \nProvide back-up support for other roles as necessary. \nAvailable for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis, as necessary. \nOther duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.\nQualifications\nA high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nExperience in a similar production environment preferred.\nForklift experience preferred.\nBasic operating knowledge of augers, belt-driven machinery, elevators, and other equipment used in the production process.\nSkills\nMulti-task and handle continuous interruptions without losing focus.\nConcentrate and remain focused despite repeated interruptions.\nStrong follow-through skills.\nSelf-motivated and accountable for results. \nSafely operate all forklifts.\nAble to work on a time deadline and follow instructions.\nPerform critical thinking and troubleshoot.\nWrite clearly and legibly to keep detailed and accurate records.\nPhysical Requirments\nFrequently lift/carry objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds.\nFrequently twist, stoop, bend, climb, push, and/or pull.\nFrequently reach for objects in performance of the specific essential job tasks.\nOccasionally lift/move/push/pull objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds.\nOccasionally perform overhead lifting of objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds, with or without assistance.\nVision sufficient to safely perform the specific essential jobs tasks outlined.\nPerform repetitive tasks (e.g. grasping objects, fine manipulation, push/pull, assemble objects, etc) with both hands.\nEnvironment\nContinuously exposed to outdoor/uncontrolled weather conditions.\nRegularly exposed to work near moving parts/equipment. \nRegularly exposed to major amounts of dust.\nRegularly exposed to moderate to severe noise levels.\nOccasionally exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.\nThe Company offers paid vacation time, paid sick leave, medical, dental and vision plans as well as a 401(k) with employer match.\nNote: Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of this position at any time. \n\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
