Areas of expertise in electrical, mechanical repair and instrumentation is emphasized. Primary goal is to ensure safe and efficient production by responding to changing conditions in a timely manner. IND123\nResponsibilities\nMaintenance\nPerforms maintenance in all areas of the plant on a scheduled or emergency basis:Electrical repairs on motors, motor starters; running conduit and pulling wires for new installations\nBuilding repairs and cleaning\n\nMoves, sets, calibrates, as needed, controls such as knobs, valves, switches, levers, and index arms, on control panels to control process variables such as flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, time, and chemicals, by automatic regulation and remote control of processing units, such as heaters, coolers, compressors, exchangers, and other units.\nDetermines malfunctioning units by observing control instruments, such as meters and gauges or by automatic warning signals, such as lights and sounding of horns.\nInspects equipment to determine location and nature of malfunction such as leaks, breakages and faulty valves. \nCommunicates directly with production to coordinate maintenance and repair work.\nPerforms preventive maintenance activities as required. \nAssists with new installations and other projects, as requested by the supervisor. \nWorks with contractors to plan and implement installation of new equipment or systems\nElectrical\nPerforms electrical maintenance in all areas of the plants on a scheduled or emergency basis.\nRepairs, Replacements, Installations, Alterations, Troubleshooting, Cleaning and Testing for the following:Electrical Motors and associated components such as Starters, MCC’s and VFD’s.\nDistribution equipment such as Panelboards and Switchgear.\nConductors and Terminations.\nSensors and Instrumentation.\nConduits, Raceways, and Fittings.\nLED, HID and Incandescent Lighting.\nStandard components such as Transformers, Plugs, Receptacles, Fixtures and devices.\n\nPatrols electrical and non-electrical equipment to verify safe and efficient operating conditions.\nParticipates in safety, health, plant cleanliness and environmental programs.\nOther duties as assigned by management. \nQualifications\nA high school diploma is required.\nMinimum of three (3) years of experience in electrical or instrumentation maintenance and repair.\nMust have experience in pipe bending/wire pull/ termination.\nTechnical experience, working with sensors and instrumentation.\nPrevious or current enrollment in an Electrical Apprenticeship Program or certification as a general electrician preferred.\nArc-Flash PPE training preferred.\nExperience with trouble shooting is a plus.\nSkills\nAbility to identify hazards and work proactively to mitigate risks.\nAbility to use simple test equipment such as a DMM and an insulation tester for troubleshooting.\nAbility to identify and anticipate electrical component failures.\nAbility to read electrical drawings such as one-line diagrams, schematics and manuals.\nKnowledge of grounding systems and grounding requirements. \nUnderstanding of plant operational processes and procedures, including routine and emergency start-up and shutdown practices.\nFamiliarity with industrial equipment operations and care.\nExperience with Arc-Flash hazards and wearing the appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, and fall protection).\nMechanical experience.\nPneumatic and Hydraulic experience. \nWelding experience preferred.\nKnowledge of PC/ PLC/ HMI.\nForklift and Manlift experience.\nKnowledgeable in Lockout, Tagout, Blockout (Machine Specific).\nProficiency with basic computer software such as Outlook, Word and Excel.\nDemonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work in a professional manner.\nAbility to work with all levels within the organization and the ability to work in a diverse group.\nAbility to write detailed repair reports and must have good verbal communication skills.\nPhysical Requirments\nMust be able to perform job duties while wearing a respirator.\nMust be able to lift and work overhead, to stoop and to crouch.\nMust be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.\nMust be able to climb ladders and work at elevations of 175 ft.\nEnvironment\nRegularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions\nRegularly exposed to dusty and noisy conditions.\nOccasionally exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.\nRegularly exposed to work near moving mechanical and electrically energized parts\n The Company offers paid vacation time, paid sick leave, medical, dental and vision plans as well as a 401(k) with employer match.\nManagement retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of this position at any time.\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
