Western Union will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.\nRole Responsibilities\nHands-on coding architect working with engineering and business partners to define and build out complex solutions driving value through business process simplification, automation and new product capabilities and AI-driven innovations\nDemonstrate strong capabilities in assessing business needs while providing creative and effective solutions aligned with modern AI and data-driven technology standards\nProduct solutioning end-to-end new innovations, including embedding AI capabilities into core product workflows with iterative improvements\nSupport and contribute to developer productivity initiatives.\nStrong emphasis on customer journey, product quality, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and continuous development\nApply established engineering best practices and leverage AI-assisted development tools.\nProven ability to improve developer productivity through AI-assisted coding practices, including code generation, automated unit test creation, and documentation synthesis.\nFollow established security, compliance, and development standards.\nFamiliarity with integrating AI tools into developer workflows (IDEs, CI/CD pipelines, code review systems)\nProven ability to understand business and ability to contribute to technology direction that drives measurable business improvements\nAwareness of emerging AI development tools and practices.\nRole Requirements\nBS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of professional experience, or MS with 3+ years of experience, or equivalent practical experience.\n5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience developing enterprise applications using technologies using Java, Python, or similar object-oriented languages. Includes demonstrated experience delivering production software through the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, coding, testing, deployment, and support.\n3+ years of experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.\n 3+ years of experience building and operating cloud-native applications at scale, preferably on AWS (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, etc.).\nPreferred Skills\nExperience in fintech domains, including payments, risk management, compliance, fraud detection, banking, or financial services.\nAWS Developer Associate, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent cloud certification.\nExperience implementing AI-enabled products using LLMs, agentic workflows, vector databases, RAG architectures, or AI orchestration frameworks.\nExperience driving developer productivity initiatives and AI-assisted software engineering practices at team or organizational scale.\nWork Shift\nHYBRID - Western Union values in-person collaboration, problem solving, and ideation whenever possible.
