We are seeking dependable, motivated candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask efficiently, anticipate team needs, communicate professionally, and take pride in delivering exceptional support throughout every stage of the patient visit.\nIn this position, you will take an active role in:\nRoom patients, obtain vital signs, collect patient histories, and assist with triage\nSafely restrain and handle dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments\nCollect blood and urine samples, administer vaccines, and perform treatments as directed\nAssist with anesthesia monitoring, patient recovery, and surgical procedures\nPrepare and fill prescriptions and review medications and discharge instructions with clients\nAnswer client questions and provide clear, compassionate communication\nMaintain clean, organized treatment areas and support daily hospital operations\nSchedule and compensation:\nCompensation: $22 - $28 per hour, for each hour worked\nThis is a full-time position, with a 5/8 schedule and weekend availibility required\nFull-time Benefits Package*:\nBonus package: Up to $500 depending on experience\nHealth package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance with HSA options and choice of UnitedHealthcare or Kaiser Permanente\nLife insurance and disability\nEmployee Assistance Program\n401k with company match\nPaid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law\nPersonal pet discount\nUniform allowance\n*Part-time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state law\nMinimum qualifications and skill set:\n1+ years of veterinary assistant experience is required\nProficiency in the following skills:Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments\nExperience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs\nAbility to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation\nVenipuncture, placing IV catheters and administering injections\nStrong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols\nAbility to work collaboratively within a team environment\nDependable attendance and strong work ethic\nPhysical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday\n\nWhy Choose Woodland Veterinary Hospital?\nWoodland Veterinary Hospital has been caring for pets and the people who love them for more than 50 years.
