This position helps maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and team members.\nOur hotel features 284 guest suites and approximately 12,700 square feet of meeting and event space. The Hotel Engineer performs preventive maintenance, responds to maintenance requests, and completes repairs throughout guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, kitchens, laundry facilities, and other hotel areas.\nResponsibilities\nRespond promptly and professionally to guest and department maintenance requests.\n\nPerform preventive maintenance and routine inspections of guest rooms, equipment, and building systems.\n\nTroubleshoot and complete general plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC repairs within the scope of training and authorization.\n\nInspect equipment and report safety concerns, repair needs, or issues requiring a qualified contractor.\n\nComplete drywall repairs, patching, texturing, painting, and finishing.\n\nPrepare and paint walls, ceilings, furniture, and other surfaces using appropriate materials and techniques.\n\nMatch paint colors and maintain a consistent appearance throughout the hotel.\n\nRepair wall coverings, tile, grout, caulking, and other building finishes.\n\nPerform basic carpentry and maintain wood surfaces, including staining and refinishing.\n\nAssist with maintenance of kitchen and laundry equipment.\n\nSupport inspections and maintenance of life-safety systems as assigned.\n\nRead and follow equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics as needed.\n\nRecord completed work, inspections, and outstanding maintenance needs using the hotel’s maintenance tracking system.\n\nKeep tools, supplies, storage areas, and workspaces organized.\n\nFollow hotel safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.\n\nCommunicate with the Engineering team and other departments to minimize disruptions to guests and hotel operations.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications\nA minimum of two years of building maintenance experience is required.\n\nPrevious hotel or hospitality maintenance experience is preferred.\n\nWorking knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical equipment, and general building maintenance.\n\nExperience with drywall repair, painting, and basic carpentry.\n\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\n\nGood communication skills and a professional, guest-focused attitude.\n\nAbility to work independently, manage priorities, and work effectively with a team.\n\nBasic computer skills for reviewing work orders and recording maintenance activities.\n\nAvailability to work different shifts, weekends, and holidays based on hotel needs.\n\nPhysical Requirements and Work Environment\nThe employee must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
