The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering leader with strong technical expertise, financial acumen, and a demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams in hospitality, resort, hotel, facilities management, or commercial property environments. This role requires exceptional communication, problem-solving, project management, and leadership skills to ensure operational excellence and outstanding guest satisfaction.\nWhat you will do:\nProvide strategic leadership and direction for all engineering, maintenance, and facilities operations throughout the resort.\nLead, coach, develop, and mentor engineering team members while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.\nOversee preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment performance, facility reliability, and asset longevity.\nEnsure the safe and efficient operation of all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pool, grounds, and life safety systems.\nDevelop and manage departmental budgets, capital reserve plans, expense forecasting, and cost-control initiatives.\nLead capital improvement and renovation projects from planning through completion while ensuring quality, budget, and timeline objectives are achieved.\nMaintain compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, safety regulations, and applicable building codes.\nManage vendor and contractor relationships, ensuring service quality, contract compliance, and operational effectiveness.\nOversee procurement, inventory management, and proper utilization of department tools, equipment, and materials.\nUtilize HotSOS and maintenance management systems to track work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, and operational performance.\nConduct property inspections to identify risks, deficiencies, and opportunities for preventive or corrective action.\nSupport maintenance and repair activities as needed to ensure uninterrupted resort operations.\nCommunicate effectively with guests, team members, vendors, and leadership through written, verbal, and electronic communication.\nRespond to emergencies and operational issues while ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on resort operations.\nSupport engineering operations across multiple resort properties when necessary.\nPerform other duties as assigned by resort leadership.\n Minimum 3 years of engineering, facilities management, or maintenance leadership experience in a resort, hotel, hospitality, or commercial property environment.\nExperience managing building systems, preventive maintenance programs, capital projects, and operational budgets.\nKnowledge of resort operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pools, landscaping, laundry facilities, and building infrastructure.\nExperience using CMMS, maintenance management software, or HotSOS preferred.\nStrong knowledge of engineering operations, facilities maintenance, and building systems management.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and O&M manuals.\nExperience managing capital projects, budgets, vendor relationships, and maintenance programs.\nProven leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate teams.\nStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, maintenance software, mobile technology, and digital work order systems.\nAbility to prioritize multiple projects and perform effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.\nCommitment to workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and exceptional guest service.\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.\nOSHA certification preferred.\nTrade licenses or certifications in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, or related disciplines preferred.\n Why Westgate?\nComprehensive Health Benefits - Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage\nPaid Time Off - Vacation, Sick, and Personal Time to Recharge\nPaid Holidays\n401(k) with Generous Company Match to Support Your Future\nDaily Pay - Access Your Earnings When You Need Them\nFamily-Focused Benefits - Pregnancy, Parental Leave, and Adoption Assistance\nWellness Programs to Support Your Well-Being\nFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA)\nTuition Assistance to Help You Grow Your Career\nMilitary Leave\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) - Support When You Need It Most\nLife, Disability, Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Insurance\nPet Insurance for Your Furry Family Members\nLoyalty Program - Exclusive Discounts on Hotels, Cruises, Resorts, Restaurants, Entertainment, and More\nLow-Cost Gym Membership\nNEW!
