As aProperty Controller at Westgate Resorts, you’ll lead the on-site resort accounting operations that keep our business running efficiently. You’ll oversee accounting for Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Retail, manage a talented team of 2-3 direct reports, and partner with resort and regional leaders to ensure accounting accuracy, cost control, and operational excellence. You'll demonstrate Westgate’s core values of Passion, Integrity, and Work Ethic in every interaction with guests and team members.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nOversee all resort accounting functions, including month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, cash handling, and income audit processes.\nPrepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements for accuracy and completeness.\nPerform variance analysis and communicate budget and forecast deviations.\nMaintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets, including surprise cash audits.\nMonitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts with complete documentation.\nResolve discrepancies related to guest credits, deposits, or revenue postings.\nCollaborate with department heads to drive financial performance, cost control, and labor productivity.\nSupport annual operating and capital budget preparation, as well as forecasting activities.\nEnsure compliance with HOA accounting requirements and participate in meetings as needed.\nProvide timely, accurate financial reports to property and corporate leadership.\nSupervise and develop property accounting staff, fostering accuracy, accountability, and growth.\nPartner with Development Accounting on HOA reserves reporting, budget vs. actual, and fund roll-forwards.\nSupport year-end audits and contribute to accounting department initiatives and projects. \n To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty and responsibility.
