Working alongside the Executive Chef, you'll oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain the highest food quality and safety standards, and help create memorable dining experiences for every guest.\nIn this role, you demonstrate Westgate's core values of Passion, Integrity, and Work Ethic in every interaction.\nWhat You'll Do as a Sous Chef:\nAssist the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations and assume leadership responsibilities in their absence.\nSupervise, coach, and develop Back-of-House team members while maintaining high culinary and service standards.\nAssist with menu development, food preparation, inventory control, ordering, and food cost management.\nEnsure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company standards while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.\nPrepare and cook high-quality meals for restaurant service, banquets, and special events while responding professionally to guest needs.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nWhat You Will Bring as a Sous Chef:\nMinimum of 3-5 years of culinary leadership experience; 5 years of culinary management experience preferred.\nProven leadership experience managing and developing kitchen teams in a high-volume environment.\nStrong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, sanitation, food safety, inventory, and kitchen operations.\nExperience supporting banquets, special events, or large-volume food production preferred.\nCulinary school diploma preferred; Food Handler Certification required within 30 days of hire.\nRequirements:\nAbility to regularly lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds.\nMust be available to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.\nRequired to pass a background check, drug test, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.\nWestgate Resorts is a Smoke and Tobacco-Free workplace.
