This is more than a management role. It's an opportunity to modernize technology, inspire collaboration, and shape the next generation of clean energy solutions.\nYou will report to the Director, Material Handling & Tooling Component Manufacturing and Engineering and be located at Shoreview, MN. Though this is a hybrid role, a core expectation will be to be in office 3-5 days per week, to establish relationships within the business.\nWhy You'll Love This Role\nDrive Change: Lead modernization of processes and technology, including I&C upgrades.\nBuild & Grow: Scale a diverse engineering team by 15-20% annually while supporting the development of emerging talent.\nInnovate: Introduce fresh ideas, digital tools, and smarter workflows to improve efficiency and quality.\nCollaborate Globally: Work with Westinghouse teams worldwide and strengthen partnerships with internal manufacturing teams.\n Make an Impact: Your leadership will directly influence the future of nuclear energy, the largest producer of carbon free energy, and sustainability.\nKey Responsibilities:\nManage two supervisors, each with 15-20 direct reports.\nOversee a team of 45+ engineers and designers across multiple disciplines.\nOversee Performance Feedback Plans (PFPs) and conduct regular one-on-one meetings with supervisors.\nGuide hiring, onboarding, and talent development to maintain critical skills and important competencies.\nSupport technical leadership reviews, promotions, and career progression for team members.\nDevelop and execute resource and technical strategies, including budget planning and management.\nPrioritize and lead process improvement and modernization projects to enhance design quality and reduce cycle times.\nEnsure compliance with nuclear quality standards, safety requirements, and contractual obligations.\nBe a change leader, introducing digital tools, model-based design, and simulation-driven workflows.\nFoster collaboration between engineering disciplines and manufacturing.\nBuild relationships with global Westinghouse engineering teams and use intra/inter-department partnerships to balance demand and supply.\nProvide project updates to senior management and customers.\nLimited North American travel for coordination and team integration.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in engineering\n8+ years of engineering experience with demonstrated leadership roles.\nLead organizational change and foster collaboration.\nExperience with QA programs and manufacturing environments.\nFamiliarity with modeling tools (ANSYS, Inventor, SolidWorks) and data management systems (PDM/PLM).\nAbility to Influence others outside of own job area regarding policies.\nDemonstrate sound contract knowledge, use approved commercial processes, manage work to terms, scope; track progress and models a questioning attitude\nWe are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices.
