At Westinghouse, we recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset and we seek to identify, attract and recruit the most qualified talent while recognizing and encouraging the value of diversity in the global workplace.\nWestinghouse's Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineering and Manufacturing organization is hiring for the Catalyst Program, a career development initiative that prepares future leaders through cross-functional rotations, hands-on experience, and progressively expanding responsibilities.\nYou will rotate through multiple teams within I&C at Westinghouse, such as:\nSafety and Reactor Systems Engineering\nSystems Engineering\nAdvanced Operations and Controls Engineering,\nGlobal I&C Production and IV&V\nIn each of these teams, you will work in different fields, including Systems Engineering, Hardware Design, and Software Design (Controls, Display, and Object-Oriented), Verification & Validation and Testing (Environmental, Functional, Integration), and Simulator Development and Testing.\nYou will report to an I&C Engineering Manager and work a hybrid role based in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.\nAbout the Catalyst Program:\nThrough a series of rotations, you will deliver value across multiple departments and locations while gaining hands-on experience and developing an understanding of different departments within the company.\nFor each rotation/department, develop an understanding of the strategic direction of the department and the business environment and evaluate how business strategies align with the direction of the business.\nIdentify areas of improvement and use data analysis skills to propose solutions to enhance the efficiency of each rotational department.\nDevelop a foundation of leadership capabilities.\nResponsibilities:\nHelp develop I&C systems based on functional requirements, design requirements and regulatory requirements.\nSupport design engineers to develop the hardware and software solutions for I&C system. Develop design documents, which may include functional logic diagrams, system design documents, software requirements, and calculation notes.\nCollaborate with other teams and partners to ensure integration of the I&C system.\nSelection and specification of I/O, controllers/processors, power supplies and other equipment to satisfy design requirements.\nCreate hardware drawings and related documentation based on the functional design.\nImplement control logic and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) displays based on the functional design.\nDevelop test procedures and execute tests at software module, board level, and integrated system level to support delivery of I&C systems.\nPerform independent verification and validation functions on safety related platform and application software through inspection, analysis, and test.\nSupport in-process quality audits following project quality plans, work with functional organizations to resolve issues to ensure compliance.\nCollaborate with project team, shop technicians, quality control/quality assurance/supply chain organizations to support production planning.\nSupport innovation and internal transformation programs to improve product quality and project efficiency.\nDevelop tools and scripts to improve existing processes and gain efficiencies.\nQualifications:\nHold a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Engineering\n0+ years of experience\nOutstanding academic achievement detailed on resume\nDemonstrated leadership capabilities\nKnowledge of Labview, C++, Java, Python, object-oriented design, basic TCP/IP networking knowledge, virtualization, embedded software helpful\n1+ years of experience with Printed Circuit Boards, Analog/Digital Circuit Design, FPGA, CPLDs is helpful\nWe are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices.
