We reimagine the possible across the nuclear industry every day.\nAbout the role:\nAs a WC&D Principal Engineer you will nngineering services for treatment and final storage of radioactive waste including process system design, unit process design, regulatory/licensing interface support, bid development, and overall facility design integration\nYou will report to the Waste Characterization and Disposal Manager and be located at Springfield. Position is remote.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDefinition of waste acceptance criteria and complementary procedures and technical specifications\nWaste packages activity calculations for Low and Intermediate Level Waste, Very Low Level\nWaste, storage units, large dimensions waste like equipment and components and singular waste\nCalculation and definition of the scaling factors from the sampling activity results and statistical techniques and applications and radionuclide vectors calculation and validation\nPreparation of engineering documents (calculation reports, descriptions, licensing documents, and specifications)\nCarrying out production control of waste generation in the Nuclear Power Plants (Quality Assurance process)\nParticipation in preparation of proposals (technical descriptions, calculation of efforts)\nResolve and provide technical leadership for complex, emergent and industry issues, and interface with our customers and other teams within Westinghouse\nResolve and provide technical leadership for special projects· Lead engineering design and analyses and propose solutions to complex problems that are not well defined\nCoordinate and integrate complex technical projects that encompass diverse teams; achieve established budget and schedule requirements, manage project risks, and develop mitigation strategies\nProvide technical leadership for general code, procedure, and method development updates\nMentor mid-level and senior engineers, helping them grow in technical breadth and depth and coach less-experienced engineers\nTranslate business needs into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.\nRepresent the engineering organization in audits, technical reviews, and external collaborations when needed\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Science (Physics or Chemistry) or engineering\nAt least 10 years of relevant experience in projects in the field of characterization engineering and acceptance of nuclear waste\nGood knowledge about nuclear waste management systems\nFluency in Spanish: must speak and write Spanish perfectly.\nFluent in English with proven reporting skills\nMS Office products knowledge\nStrong technical interest, predisposition for multi-tasking, flexibility, understanding of project priorities and teamwork abilities\nWorking in international teams\nTravelling and onsite activities (worldwide)\nDriving License\nWhy Westinghouse?\nWe know that to put forth your best effort, you need to be challenged and enjoy what you do in a supportive and respectful environment.
