We work together to enhance peoples' lives through our products and presence in the communities in which we operate.\nStarting Pay: $43.00 per hour + $2.00 per hour for shift differential\nSUMMARY\nThe Electromechanical Technician is responsible for performing facility Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) work on all manufacturing equipment. Duties include installation, programming, troubleshooting, and repair of PLC's. Proactively maintains all plant electrical systems, all equipment electronics, motors, drives and other power transmission systems. This position also has the responsibility to perform all mechanical and electrical tasks as assigned.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nMay include, but are not limited to, the following:\nPerform all manufacturing plant electrical and electronic diagnostics repair and installation, consistent with plant electricians\nWrite advanced A/B PLC logic program\nTroubleshoot and repair PLC circuits\nDesign and assemble control circuits and cabinets with user interface\nAnalyze current machinery for PLC automation implementation\nTroubleshoot/program/specify motor drives\nMaintain/service plant switchgear\nMaintains a running log on barrel and screw inventory, changes, history and throughput\nAbility to determine when scope of job is beyond existing skill set or requires additional support\nPerform all mechanical and electrical duties required, and additional duties as assigned\nComply with company policies for software updating, filing, and archiving of PLC/PC applications\nComply with established safety rules and company policies and procedures\nEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS\nAssociates Degree in Electronics or equivalent training (i.e. Fundamentals of PLC's, Programming Controllers, Troubleshooting and Repair of PLC's) with three (3) plus years of practical electronics experience\nExperience with blending and extrusion equipment preferred\nElectrical and Mechanical background; 3 phase, 480v power experience required\nMust be able to climb and work at elevated heights\nKnowledge of 5S and lean principles\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crawl or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nThis position works in a fast paced manufacturing facility. Noise level commensurate with large machinery. Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times; steel toed shoes and long pants are required. Temperatures, although maintained, can be effected by outside weather conditions.\nOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The pay range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company.
