We work together to enhance peoples' lives through our products and presence in the communities in which we operate.\nJOB SUMMARY\nThe Forklift Operator Position will utilize the forklift to facilitate movement of product and materials in an organized and safe manner throughout the facility to maximize space and productivity.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nComply with Company Safety Policies and Procedures\nWears assigned PPE in order to safely perform all job tasks\nWears steel-toed boot for the duration of work shift\nMaintains a professional and positive attitude\nReports any and all injuries to respective supervisor (s)\nPerforms general housekeeping duties to help maintain a clean and safe work area\nAttends company sponsored training when necessary\nReports to work daily and on time unless otherwise excused\nAbides by all of Boral safety and/or quality policies and procedures\nPerforms daily inspection on assigned forklift and notify appropriate personnel of all safety and maintenance issues prior to driving forklift\nTransfers material throughout facility and store new product in designated area\nSafely secures and loads flatbed and flatbed trucks as needed (where applicable)\nFollows company safety procedures pertaining to forklift safety\nFollows all forklift safety procedures when replacing empty propane tanks on forklifts\nWraps finished product for shipping (where applicable)\nLoading and unloading trucks with finished goods\nMaintain and control loading zone security\nRetrieves pallets\nPerforms other duties as assigned or needed\nRegular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility \nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES\nAttention to detail and accuracy\nMust be able to read and write in English and/or Spanish\nAbility to receive and carry out instructions given by management\nAbility to model desired behavior and conduct for all employees\nMust be safe minded and alert during times of operation\nDemonstrated traits of honesty and integrity and ability to maintain confidential information\nMust be able to perform simple mathematic functions\nMust possess the ability to obtain forklift certification and have thorough knowledge of operating policies and procedures\nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE\nThe employee should have the following:\nTraining or certification in relevant skills or trade\n1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant field\nESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT\nThe employee should possess the ability to:\nProlong standing or in stationary position\nComplete repetitive movements\nWear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)\nLift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds\nAbility to move or traverse about the facilities\nAbility to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions\nThis is not necessarily an all-inclusive list of job-related responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions.
