We work together to enhance peoples' lives through our products and presence in the communities in which we operate.\nJOB SUMMARY \nThis position repairs and maintains the assigned machinery and mechanical equipment ensuring at all times that the company safety rules are followed.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nComply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures\nRegular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility\nPerforms preventive maintenance operations on machinery according to schedules\nInstalls, rebuilds and repairs a wide variety of machines as directed by the Maintenance Manager/supervisor\nServices and maintains a limited range of building and production equipment following procedures\nAnalyzes, detects, and determines the nature of the problem and provides input as to the extent of the repairs required. Troubleshoots to and selects materials needed for the repairs.\nNotifies Maintenance Manager of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective actions taken\nAssembles, replaces or refits parts as warranted\nTear down and rebuild presses as needed to repair dies\nAssists with building repairs\nReplace and refit parts\nInstructs and provides technical assistance to lower level mechanics as required\nFollow and enforce company safety policies and procedures among the maintenance mechanics at all times.\nAll other duties as requested or assigned\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES\nIndustrial mechanical skills\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance\ninstructions, equipment manuals, and company manuals and procedures.\nUse hand and power tools, welding equipment, drill press, and other related industrial repair equipment\nDemonstrate manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude\nGood communication skills and ability to read, speak, write English (bilingual Spanish helpful)\nAbility to observe, identify, deduce and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions\nQuick learner and ability to work under minimal supervision\nMath skills and computer skills\nIndustrial electrical skills preferred\nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE\nAssociates Degree and/or post-high school technical training highly desired, or equivalent experience\n2 + years of related experience required - in a manufacturing environment preferred\n2 + years tearing down and rebuilding presses\n2 + exp with tooling and dies\nESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT\nThe employee should possess the ability to:\nBe exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable\nWithstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out\nProlong standing or in stationary position\nComplete repetitive movements\nBend and/or twist\nLift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds\nAbility to move or traverse about the facilities\nAbility to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions\nWear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)\n\n$35.24/hour\nOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The pay range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company.
