We work together to enhance peoples' lives through our products and presence in the communities in which we operate.\nSUMMARY\nDirect and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds and utility systems of included in the Prairie Plant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nMay include, but are not limited to, the following:\nSafety, Environment:\n· Support and drive, accident prevention and environmental excellence.\n· Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with\noperational standards.\n· Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to\nresolve safety issues and maintenance problems and recommends\nmeasures to improve operations and conditions of machines and\nequipment.\nSupply Chain:\n· Reviews equipment spares inventories and ensures that critical spares are\nprocured.\nProduction:\n· Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed\nto improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater\nutilization of labor and materials.\n· Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and\nmodification with project engineer.\nControl:\n· Manages and coordinates activities of a team of skilled workers engaged\nin maintaining and repairing equipment, structures, utility systems,\nbuildings, and grounds.\n· As a member of the senior management team at the Prairie facility,\nparticipates in team meetings, strategic planning and PIP.\n· Develops preventative maintenance program in conjunction with reliability\nengineering and maintenance staff.\n· Writes AFE’s and supports Capex efforts annually.\nQuality:\n· Directly supervises the reliability engineer, maintenance supervisor, and\nmaintenance planner ensuring that metrics and goals are achieved within\neach contributor’s purview.\n· Directly supervises the maintenance department; oversees the\nperformance management, attendance and training functions.\n· Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools,\nor equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.\n· Review backlog of new Work Orders with maintenance supervisor &\nmaintenance planner weekly to confirm priorities for planning.\n· Ensures storeroom is neat and orderly.\n· Evaluate and assure accurate timecards, material requisitions, work plans,\nand schedules are being utilized.\n· Performs other duties as assigned.\nEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS\n· High school diploma or equivalent required, plus completion of an\napproved Instrument/Electrical course or equivalent field experience and\n8+ years plant experience.\n· Good working knowledge of equipment, materials, techniques, and\nsafeguards in respective discipline for maintenance and construction of a\ncompounding plant.\n· Proven supervisory/administrative skills.\n· Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written is mandatory\n· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows and knowledge\nof SAP (S/4).\n· Must be able to communicate to all levels of local management and to\nother departments to explain problems and proposed solutions.\nAbility to impact and influence, and to persuade others to a particular\ncourse of action\nWestlake is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
