We work together to enhance peoples' lives through our products and presence in the communities in which we operate.\nJOB SUMMARY\nThis position is responsible for the assembly precision of materials, components, and sub-assemblies in one of the branded lines. Employment in this position also requires handling, lifting less than 50 pounds, rotation of head/neck, sitting, standing, use of low impact vibratory tools, walking, contact with metals, solvents, exposure to noise and atmospheric conditions, and the use of personal safety gear for face, eyes, and feet.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n· Comply with Company Safety Policies and Procedures\nIn-depth understanding and application of the Company Safety Consequences Policy\n· Fasten or assemble light and medium size parts in factory setting\n· Operate electrical, hydraulic and air activated hand tools\n· Read and follow standard work directions on the assembly line\n· Ensure each piece meets quality standards as product is assembled\n· Keep track of production numbers to ensure quota per machine is met\n· Report any machine malfunctions\n· Work in a team environment embedded in lean manufacturing methodology\n· Drive plant performance through Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost metrics\n· Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES\nWorking knowledge and basic experience using precision measuring equipment.\nWorking knowledge and basic experience reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings\nWorking knowledge and basic experience using computers and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)\nWorking knowledge and basic experience using handheld power tools\nBasic Computer skills, advanced skills will be developed\nAbility to be Proficient in Microsoft Office suite within 12 months\nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE\nThe employee should have the following:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade preferred\n1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant field\nESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT\nThe employee should possess the ability to:\n· Must be able to work standing for up to 8-12 hours/shift.\n· Must be able to kneel, squat, bend/twist at the waist, and stack parts at or above head height\n· Must have full range of motion (ROM) of shoulders, knees, hips, elbows, wrists, and hands to inspect, pack, and stack finished parts\n· Must be able to complete repetitive tasks to keep up with IMM cycle times as fast as every 30 seconds\n· Must be able to wear compliant ear protection when working in areas exposed to noise levels above OSHA threshold limits\n· Must be able to work in hot environments (especially summer months) that can exceed 100F\n· Wear all required personal protective equipment (Safety toe shoes, ANSI Z87 eye protection, CR gloves)\n· Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds\n· Ability to move or traverse about the facilities\n· Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders\n· Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions\nWestlake is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
