We work together to enhance peoples' lives through our products and presence in the communities in which we operate.\nSUMMARY\nServes as a key member of the legal team, primarily supporting litigation matters and legal operations projects.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nMay include, but are not limited to, the following:\nAssist in-house attorneys in managing company litigation, including maintaining company’s litigation docket, issuing and tracking document preservation notices, and organizing and producing documents in connection with e-discovery.\nMaintenance and organization of electronic and physical litigation documents. Assistance with preparation and filing of court submissions. Preparation and maintenance of engagement letters with outside counsel. \nAssist with settlements and periodic accruals.\nAssist in-house attorneys and other corporate functions (e.g., finance, credit, accounts payable) to provide general corporate assistance.\nAssist with various projects, including, but not limited to, legal research, investigations, audit requests, intellectual property, invoices, and M&A.\nGeneral office assistance with correspondence, expense reports, travel bookings, organizing meetings, etc.\nFully supports company’s goal of continuous improvement, including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities,\nWork as a team member in the department, including assisting and providing back-up for other members of the department as needed.\nThe successful candidate should possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, the ability to multi-task, a team-oriented mindset and strong work ethic and attention to detail. Efficiency and accuracy are extremely important. Overtime work is occasionally required. \nEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor degree or paralegal certification required. \nMinimum of 10 years of experience working with lawyers, preferably in major law firm and/or in a corporation. Experience handling complex litigation and e-discovery is strongly preferred.\nAdvanced experience with Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, and Adobe Acrobat, including ability to create pivot tables, charts, presentations, and use other advanced features of these software tools.\nMust be proficient in e-discovery software\nMust have knowledge of Practical Law Connect and Westlaw\nExperience with matter management (e.g., Serengeti/Legal Tracker), entity management system (e.g., hCue), and similar systems is strongly preferred.\nWestlake is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
