This position leads a team of planners supporting multiple manufacturing facilities and is accountable for aligning demand, supply, capacity, inventory, and production resources to achieve customer service and operational objectives.\nThe Superintendent, S&OP will oversee production planning, supply planning, capacity planning, inventory deployment, and execution of the monthly S&OP process. Working closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Customer Service, Logistics, Procurement, and Sales, this role ensures production plans are optimized to meet customer demand while maximizing plant efficiency and inventory investment.\nThis position serves as the primary link between commercial demand plans and manufacturing execution plans, ensuring alignment across ten manufacturing facilities and multiple distribution locations.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nS&OP Leadership\nLead the monthly S&OP process, including Supply Review and Executive S&OP meetings.\nTranslate rolling demand forecasts into executable manufacturing and supply plans.\nDevelop and maintain a rolling 6 to 18-month supply plan supporting business objectives.\nFacilitate cross-functional discussions regarding demand changes, supply constraints, inventory strategies, and capacity utilization.\nPrepare executive presentations and recommendations for senior leadership review.\nDrive continuous improvement of S&OP processes, governance, and planning maturity.\nProduction Planning & Supply Planning\nDevelop production plans across multiple manufacturing facilities to meet forecasted and actual customer demand.\nConvert approved demand plans into manufacturing schedules and production requirements.\nEnsure production plans align with available labor, machine capacity, material availability, and warehouse requirements.\nCollaborate with plant leadership to balance capacity, inventory levels, and customer service requirements.\nReview plant constraints and develop mitigation strategies to minimize service disruptions.\nCreate and manage production orders within ERP systems.\nMonitor schedule attainment and production plan adherence across manufacturing facilities.\nLead monthly supply reviews with manufacturing teams.\nCapacity Planning & Manufacturing Alignment\nMaintain capacity models for critical manufacturing resources.\nAnalyze capacity utilization and identify bottlenecks across production facilities.\nEvaluate capital, labor, equipment, and operational constraints impacting supply plans.\nDevelop recommendations to improve capacity utilization and production efficiencies.\nPartner with plant leadership to create recovery plans for underperforming production areas.\nConduct scenario planning to evaluate demand increases, production disruptions, and inventory impacts.\nInventory Deployment & Replenishment Planning\nEstablish inventory stocking strategies across manufacturing sites and distribution yards.\nDefine inventory planning parameters including:Safety Stock\nMinimum Stock Levels\nMaximum Stock Levels\nReorder Points\nReplenishment Frequencies\n\nManage inventory deployment strategies across plant and warehouse networks.\nCreate and oversee transfer order processes between plants and distribution facilities.\nEnsure appropriate inventory levels are maintained to support customer service objectives.\nBalance inventory investment against service level expectations and operational constraints.\nPerformance Management\nMonitor and report key operational metrics including:Production Attainment\nProduction Schedule Adherence\nCapacity Utilization\nService Levels\nOTIF (On-Time In-Full)\nLead Time Attainment\nInventory Turns\nPast Due Orders / Backorder Performance\nInventory Days of Supply (DOS)\n\nIdentify root causes for performance gaps and implement corrective actions.\nProvide regular performance reviews and recommendations to leadership teams.\nLeadership & Team Development\nLead and develop a team of Supply Planners supporting multiple manufacturing facilities.\nEstablish standard planning processes and planning disciplines across all locations.\nCoach planners on production planning, inventory management, ERP utilization, and supply chain best practices.\nDevelop succession plans and skills development programs within the planning organization.\nEnsure planning resources are appropriately aligned across manufacturing facilities.\nCross Functional Collaboration\nPartner with Manufacturing, Customer Service, Logistics, Procurement, Sales, and Operations teams.\nDrive alignment between commercial forecasts and operational execution plans.\nParticipate in strategic initiatives related to inventory optimization, service improvements, network optimization, and operational excellence.\nSupport ERP enhancements and planning system improvements.\nEDUCATION\nBachelor's Degree in:\nSupply Chain Management\nOperations Management\nIndustrial Engineering\nBusiness Administration\nLogistics\nRelated Discipline\nEXPERIENCE\n8-10 years of experience in production planning, supply planning, manufacturing planning, or S&OP.\n3-5 years of leadership experience managing planners or supply chain teams.\nExperience supporting multiple manufacturing facilities.\nStrong background in production planning and manufacturing operations.\nExperience with ERP systems such as SAP or JD Edwards.\nExperience leading formal S&OP processes.\nMulti-site manufacturing planning experience\nSKILLS\n Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)\n Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required\n Experience with Power BI and business intelligence reporting tools preferred.\nAPICS CPIM and/or CSCP certification preferred. Travel can be up to as much as10%including air travel or auto travel.\n` Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The base pay range for this position is $110K - $135K. This range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets.
