For more information, visit westmag.com.\nAbout the role\nAs a Hardware Test Engineer at Westmag, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our drone motors and robotic actuators. You will own all aspects of the test function, from designing test rigs to proposing design and process improvements based on test data. You will collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and customer teams to uphold product excellence and customer satisfaction.\nWhat you'll own\nDevelop, maintain, and execute motor and actuator test processes.\n\nDesign and build test rigs for production and R&D hardware.\n\nAnalyze test data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvements.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and field applications to root cause reliability and performance issues.\n\nSupport new product qualification and certification activities.\n\nDocument test processes, develop testing SOPs, and hire and train test technicians.\n\nRequired qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.\n\n3+ years of experience in test engineering, or a related function, preferably in motor, robotics, or aerospace industries.\n\nExperience designing and building test equipment and implementing test programs.\n\nStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive design and process improvements.\n\nProficient with test equipment (dynamometer, oscilloscope, power analyzer, etc.), data acquisition systems, and statistical analysis tools.\n\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.\n\nAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.\n\nMust be authorized to work in the United States.\n\nPreferred qualifications\nExperience with drone motor or robotic actuator testing.\n\nKnowledge of motor control, thermal management, and reliability engineering.\n\nExperience with test automation and software tools for test management.","description_format":"text","description_chars":2336,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Drones & UAVs","Motors, Drives & Motion Control"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-01T23:12:26Z"}],"liveness":{"score":58,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.735,"p_room":0.788,"age_days":13,"expected_fill_days":19,"reasons":["conf:6","win:late"],"computed_at":"2026-10-02T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/westmag-hardware-test-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/westmag-hardware-test-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-03T04:18:17Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":4467,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":533,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-04T00:00:00Z"}}}
