For more information, visit westmag.com.\nAbout the role\nAs a Maintenance Technician at Westmag, you will keep our production equipment and facilities running at peak performance as we scale manufacturing of drone motors and robot actuators. You will perform predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance across a range of electrical and mechanical systems, respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, working with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve reliability.\nResponsibilities\nExecute scheduled preventive maintenance programs for production and facility equipment.\n\nDiagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults to restore equipment to operational status.\n\nReplace and calibrate worn or failed components including motors, bearings, belts, sensors, solenoids, and production tooling.\n\nTroubleshoot and repair 120V/240V/480V electrical systems and PLC-based equipment.\n\nRead and interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and P&ID drawings.\n\nSafely isolate and lock out energy sources in compliance with Cal/OSHA 8 CCR §3314 (lockout/tagout).\n\nMaintain compressed air systems, HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and general facility infrastructure.\n\nPerform minor structural repairs including welding, metal fabrication, and carpentry as needed.\n\nRespond promptly to emergency breakdowns and unplanned downtime events.\n\nIdentify recurring failure modes and propose root-cause solutions to reduce downtime.\n\nMaintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and parts usage records in the CMMS.\n\nRequired qualifications\nGED, high school diploma, or higher.\n\n3+ years of maintenance technician experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.\n\nDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical systems independently.\n\nProficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments (multimeters, clamp meters, meggers).\n\nWorking knowledge of lockout/tagout, electrical safety, and general shop safety practices.\n\nHold at least one current, recognized technical certification.\n\nAbility to read engineering drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.\n\nClear written and verbal communication for accurate work documentation and shift handoffs.\n\nAuthorized to work in the United States.\n\nValid California driver's license.\n\nAbility to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.\n\nPreferred qualifications\nExperience maintaining high-volume production equipment (automotive, electronics, etc.)\n\nPLC programming or advanced troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).\n\nExperience with CMMS platforms for work order and PM scheduling.\n\nMIG or TIG welding certification.\n\nForklift or aerial lift operator certification.\n\nWork environment & physical requirements\nOn-site role in an active production environment with exposure to machinery, electrical systems, and moderate noise.\n\nAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lb unassisted.\n\nAbility to work at height on ladders and elevated platforms, and within confined spaces.\n\nAbility to stand, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods during repair and maintenance tasks.\n\nPPE required including safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, and gloves as applicable.\n\nExposure to lubricants, solvents, and cleaning agents;
