Established in 1977, as a locally owned and operated cooperative, Westman is dedicated to delivering competitive and innovative services, providing an exceptional member experience, and supporting the communities we serve. \nWhat we have to offer:\nCompetitive compensation package.\nComprehensive group benefits plan (extended health; life; dental; vision; GRRSP; and health and wellness).\nVarious Learning and Development initiatives, and opportunities to grow within our team! \nOpportunity to participate in company events and activities and enjoy our company perks! \nWhat you’ll do:\nResponsible for all aspects of construction, installation, and repair of the broadband infrastructure with a focus on providing an exceptional customer experience.\nRepair or replace faulty cables, broadband electronics, coaxial, and fibre optic cables as required.\nEnsure documentation is updated daily related to work performed.\nUse advanced equipment to conduct signal leakage monitoring and broadband forward and reverse sweeps as required.\nComplete all duties of manhole work in accordance with policies, such as permit documentation, gas testing, etc.\nPerform all work in accordance with WCG policies, procedures, and standards of practice.\nWhat you’ll bring to the team:\nMinimum Grade 12 or equivalent is required.\nMinimum of 2-year post-secondary education in a related field (such as Electronics or Telecommunications) or relevant courses/certifications (such as NCTI or SCTE) is required.\nKnowledge of or experience in electronic or network installation and repair, or residential wiring/construction is required.\nAbility to read and understand fibre optic & broadband plant maps, with an understanding of construction wiring practices.\nAbility to obtain and maintain certification in Basic First Aid and CPR C.\nMust be comfortable with heights (ladder work) and confined spaces, and be able to carry up to 75 lbs.\nMust be able to travel with the potential of extended stays away and be on-call for emergency services as needed.\nMust hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.\nDEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: This position is open until filled.\nAs an equal-opportunity employer, we are committed to an inclusive and barrier free environment at Westman Communications Group and encourage applications from all qualified individuals.
