If you're passionate about making a difference in this critical field, we invite you to explore a career with Carollo.\nResponsibilities\nWe are seeking a Structural Engineer within our Private Sector Group (Industrial) to support our vision of becoming the best water consulting firm.\nPlans, monitors and manages structural engineering scope, schedule and budget for successful project completion\nPerforms quality management reviews of structural designs by others and works with designer to understand and resolve issues arising from the review\nPrepares estimates for cost and schedule of structural engineering services for design and construction\nProduction of Contract Documents for construction of structures, including plans and specifications\nConducts on-site investigations and evaluations of existing structures, including the preparation of reports\nWorks with other project team members to understand and integrate their requirements into the structural design\nCoordinates details of design between various project design disciplines\nMentors and trains staff and entry-level structural engineers\nAssists and coaches CADD technicians in developing presentations of structural designs\nPrepares and reviews opinions of construction costs for structural portion of projects\nAssists field staff in resolving issues and questions during construction\nAssists in continuing development and improvement of structural design standards, specifications, and typical details\nDevelops project-specific designs, standards, specifications and details for unusual or unique situations\nTravel required when requested\nMakes site visits to observe during construction and operation\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with Structural Emphasis\n6-12 years of experience, preferably in the design of water and wastewater treatment structures\nRegistration as a Professional Engineer\nExpert in the application of building codes and code-referenced standards for design of water treatment and industrial structures in concrete, steel, and reinforced masonry\nHighly motivated self-starter with demonstrated experience working with minimum supervision to determine and complete structural engineering tasks while acting as part of a multi-disciplinary project team\nComprehensive knowledge and understanding of specifications for construction using concrete, masonry and steel\nComprehensive knowledge and understanding of presentation of structural design and detailing in construction documents\nComprehensive knowledge and understanding of structural design codes and standards\nSkilled in organizing and coordinating work with both peers and subordinates, and in planning, monitoring, and completing projects within that plan\nProduction and project management skills and experience\nStrong oral and written communications skills\nProficient in public speaking roles\nProficient in MS Word and Excel\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in Structural Engineering\nExperience with Microstation or AutoCAD\nRegistration as a Structural Engineer\nOther Compensation and Benefits\nCarollo is committed to providing employees with a competitive, comprehensive benefits program that provides the care employees and their families need to lead healthy, productive lives.
