In this role, you will work with experienced engineers and report directly to the Metering Engineer. The Jr. Metering Engineer will attend ERCOT´s Metering Working Group, assist with designing new EPS metering installations, coordinating metering requirements with third-party customers, equipment selection, and oversight of final site certifications.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nAssist in the generating EPS Design Proposals.\nProvide input into the selection and verification of equipment requirements for each metering facility according to ERCOT requirements for accuracy.\nObtain the knowledge and capabilities to program revenue meters from industry accepted manufacturers (SEL, TransData, etc), according to ERCOT requirements and telecommunication needs.\nObtain thorough knowledge of ERCOT Nodal Protocols related to EPS metering points as well as SMOG (Settlement Metering Operating Guide).\nAssist in ensuring compliance with required maintenance activities as it relates to EPS metering facilities.\n- Assist in ERCOT audits on metering facilities.\nSupport ERCOT Metering Working Group (MWG) efforts and maintain compliance with ERCOT protocols regarding EPS metering facilities.\nAssist in the evaluate new technologies and technological developments in the industry and assessing the potential applications of innovative solutions to WETT to reduce project and operating costs and achieve corporate goals regarding safety and environmental protection.\nTake on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the manager or leadership to meet evolving business needs.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is preferred or a related field from an accredited university.\nStrong academic foundation in power systems or related course work.\nInternship, co-op or related engineering experience in the utility or energy industry preferred but not required.\nBasic knowledge and understanding of telecommunication protocols, specifically serial and TCP/IP systems is a plus.\nAbility and willingness to travel to system locations.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Products, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.\nExcellent verbal & written communication skills.\nMust be able to obtain Texas driver’s license.\nWhy Work at Wind Energy Transmission Texas (WETT)?\nAt WETT, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a company that plays a critical role in powering Texas with reliable, clean, and renewable energy.
