Your future starts here.\nAbout the Team/Role:\nAs a Software Engineer on the WEX Technology team, you will work in a team that partners closely with Product Managers and customers to learn about the challenges employers face while navigating the competitive business landscape. You will design solutions that solve problems in ways our customers love and work for our business. You will build the highest quality software in the latest technologies and test-driven development practices.\nHow you'll make an impact:\nDevelop Full-Stack & Mobile Systems: Apply data structures and algorithms to build scalable backend services with Java and Spring Boot, alongside mobile application components.\n\nDatabase & Cloud Integration: Design PostgreSQL schemas, optimize queries, and deploy resilient microservices on AWS cloud infrastructure.\n\nConstruct Practical AI Solutions: Leverage modern AI tools and trends to build AI agents, automate workflows, and accelerate project delivery.\n\nLearn & Collaborate: Partner with senior engineers to apply software design best practices, write thoroughly tested code, and ship features during the internship.\n\nExperience you'll bring:\nCurrently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.\n\nStrong proficiency in Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) paired with hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL.\n\nExposure to AWS cloud infrastructure and mobile application development concepts.\n\nPractical ability to leverage AI tools, explore modern AI trends, and construct functional AI agents for project workflows.\n\nStrong analytical problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.\n\nThe base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
